OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi ship 14 my son has been at pcola since July 14th. He waited 3 weeks for School to start. This I am being told is not so bad. He was set to graduate on the 13th of this month. This is not the case though. He has been delayed until the 17th. Then the hold on the hard copies for placement. He has been told he will be here in Lemoore. But I have also been told this can change. We are being told at least a 3 week hold. Good thing is they are being paid, and enjoying the beaches. I have been trying to learn to be patient with all of this. I have learned nothing is ever set in stone. Good luck and enjoy the PIR.

Anita, my internet is down, and I'm having trouble responding to personal messages. Not sure if this is posting on your wall or as a message so I'm going to be cryptic in my response! The latest word from a SR to her mom, is it will be a day earlier than the first day we were given. However, we don't know if that info came from their RDC's or if it was her own "calendar" reckoning. If that is the case, she may not have taken in the holiday and the need to get all of the PIR groups from the grad class that week thru. So.... Kind of up in the air. Julie
