YEAH I GOT MAIL

Posted on July 16, 2010 at 8:33pm 0 Comments

I can't even begin to tell, how I wished my day at work would end so I could go home and get the mail. My son Ryan texted me, telling me I got mail. It was the best piece of mail I had ever recieved I do mean that. You know us MOM know when your kid is not feeling it, he sound so good and so relaxed an so into everything that was going on... My son of course had to have all his wisdom teeth pulled so one thing he wasn't feeling. He is communicating really well with his brother before he left…

OMG He's doing okay

Well, I have to say that I was relieved to here from my son so soon, but I recieved my son in a box (morbid I know but again keep a sense of humor) I first smelled his shirt just as I did when he was a baby I love the smell. I know I am kinda weird but its normal I am told. Nothing but just clothes. One day later I recieved a blurb of a letter 2 lines which were the best 2 lines I have ever read in my life. He was doing well and was very excited about the division he was in, that he the family… Continue

BootCamp

Posted on June 23, 2010 at 10:09pm 2 Comments

Well my son Eric is off to boot camp, this I have to say was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my lifetime, letting go. I am a single mom and devoted my life to my two sons Eric 20 who just left to boot camp today, and Ryan my 15 year old. I could see the fear in his eyes and the little boy staring at me begging me to say don't go, I wanted very much to say its okay come home you don't have to go, but for the first time I did exactly the opposite, I said not going is not an options for… Continue

Hi, My son thinks he saw your son at the Dep meeting last tuesday. He saw his picture here. Is that your kitty in the picture? We have 2 cats. What a mess they make. One is 18 years old and the other is almost 2 years. It really makes it hard when they leave from San Antonio. It is not that close and Ithink our sons just want to make a clean break from here in Corpus Christi. It must be hard being so proud of their decision to serve our country and at the same time knowing we will not be able to see them as often as we want. The one great thing this place is good for is to help each other in all these stages our children are going through. DEP, BC, A School, and then maybe ships. I am sure my rosary is going to get worn out before all this is over if it ever is. Have a good night. Kathy

Hi, Your son is leaving soon. You will find lots of support here. The boot camp sites are great and when you find out his PIR date, when he graduates, you can talk with other moms with kids there at the same time. Are you going to his swearing in? My son wants to say good bye here at the house instead of SA. We will see I guess when the time comes. Bye, Kathy
