Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

PS:  My son will be going to A school in Pensacola as well.   :)    In my next letter I will let Devin know that I 'met' you  :)

Good morning   :)   We live just outside of Mazeppa (about 10 miles from Zumbrota, Pine Island or Oronoco depending on the direction).  We will be staying at the Ramada in Waukegan, there is a meet and greet there as well, both Thursday and Friday if I remember correctly.  I received the box which was just heart wrenching then the form letter and was soooo pumped just to see his handwriting.  I completely understand the texting/talking to your son.

Keep in touch!!  :)   Take care too.

We are driving also, about 6 hours.  I reserved at Homewood Suites but might check into this Residence Inn that everyone is talking about!  We may go to one of the meet and greets, it depends on what time we get in.  This Sarge guy sounds like the place to be!

Still waiting for a letter/call...my son has been out of the house for a couple years.  I didn't realize how often I talked/texted to him until I can't, lol!  I miss his 6:30am visits when he would stop in for breakfast when he got off work.

Hoping today is the day for that letter in the box when I look for the 10th time :)

Thanks for the friend request!  This whole thing is new to me ~ no military experience what so ever, lol!

Where are you from?  We are from Minnesota.

Welcome to NavyForMoms.com!!

I hope you get all the information here you are looking for. Please stop by the Survival Guide for New Moms for some of the info to start with.
If you have a new Recruit and need phone cards for them please check out Calls for Recruits.org and get them for FREE. I feel that the Family, Loved Ones, nor the Men and Women of our Armed Forces should have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp. The link above will take you to the website to send the email for the FREE phone cards if you need them. Please spread the word if you know of anyone who can use this great service!!!
