Where has time gone, I remember when you were small, The line you drew on the wall, every time to measure how tall. The running in the house, the hide and seek, I knew where you were, even when you would peek. I held you close when you were so cold, I offered my hand for you to always hold. I picked you up ever time you fell, Took care of all sickness to make you well. I rescued you when you felt any type of pain, Just to place you on the right path again and again. You have grown into a man…

I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains what appears to be your last name; you also need to change the URL to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)
Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.
There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your Sailor.
Join USS Carl Vinson Family and/or CARRIER Families! and check out Lemoore NAS California Moms, San Diego Moms or Sailors in San Diego, San Diego Moms/SOs and Sailors Stationed in California. What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty)? There may be a group for that as well.
Welcome! Love your photos.
Thank you so much! I am going to check out that hotel and then I will get back to you! I feel like I am in a tough place because my boyfriends mom just got a new job and so they don't think they are going to make it but aren't positive. I of course, want to wait for them - but I am nervous because I don't want places to be filling up and I already had to book my flight to get a decent price haha. I will get back to you and I really am appreciative and grateful for your help! Thank you so much!

Hi, good to meet someone from Louisiana. My son, Jacob, is in bc. I have only received one note from him on the back of the form letter. It was fairly long, two paragraphs. He misses home of course. He said Pdays were "horrible". I was glad to hear from him. But I worry about what he is going through. He is 23 years old and the youngest of 3. I hope and pray to God every day to keep him safe. I hope Brian's next letter will be more encouraging. Just keep writing him and tell him how proud you are of him. Where is his A school?
Write him alot! Believe me...they long for those letters. Be sure to ask others to write him too...family, favorite coaches/teachers, friends, etc. They live for letters!
Hey! Got your "message to group" about your son's letter. I am a N4Moms veteran mom who stayed on the PIR groups to help...my son is actually finishing his Navy stint today...will be discharged today. But just wanted to say...I still remember his bootcamp experience well. These first few weeks are very very hard for them. Not all SRs will be honest when they write home because they don't want their families to worry...so they may say it is wonderful and easy. Trust me...it's not. They are being yelled at, mentored, and they truly don't think they can do anything right at this point. BUT....that will change by about training week 4 (usually about 6 weeks after they have left home). It DOES get better for them, they start accomplishing alot, and they become more confident. Hang in there...I know this hurts a mom's heart. I even thought at one point that my son wanted to quit...when he realized I was thinking that way, he said, "Mom, you think I'm giving up? NO WAY! I'm going to get through this and become a sailor!" And he did! So vent when you need to and know things will get better. Also, when you send a Message to Group as you did, just know that all ladies on here don't receive it. Plus...there is no way to respond to it other than the way I'm doing it here or to send you a message.
It will get better! Just keep encouraging him and don't pass on any bad news! They need to hear all positive from home now...you are his biggest cheerleader!
Sons hold a special place in their mom's hearts, don't they?!:) You and he are in my thoughts. It's only day 2 without Matt and our house sure is quiet. Anxious for that next call and/or letter.
