All Hands Magazine's mini-documentary series "Making a Sailor": These six videos follow four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Hi, if your your son is going to San Antonio for A School, you may want to join San Antonio MA's when it gets closer to his time to be there. As to your question about GradNGo, he will indicate on the form letter if he is to be GradNGo. Best wishes to you and your soon-to-be-Sailor.
Hi. You should have received your sailor in a box. After that, they don't get to write for about 2 weeks, and only on a Sunday. However, you keep on writing letters, even if you mail 10 of them when you get the addy.
They have to be sure they have complete units before they start counting their days toward graduation (PIR) instead of tracking or indoctrination days. Right now, they will have received tons of vaccinations, which may make them sick. Also, if their widsom teeth have not precviously been removed, that may be on their schedule.
Your recruiter should have a temporary mailing addy by now. They may also have an expected grad. date, but I would wait 4 weeks just to verify it.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Take care, you son may sound down in his first letter home, but remember that the letter is already about 4 days old.
