Proudmama,
I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!! We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support. Please feel free to jump in and join our chats!! We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever. It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!! Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!! I have a daughter who enlisted in 08 and is out now but is working in her same command as a civilian contractor. Her twin sister is in her 6th week of training at Officer Candidate school. I also have a son who is serving his 8th year and just reenlisted for another 6!! I see your daughter graduated from bootcamp, is she in an A school now? What will her job be in the Navy and does she have any idea where she may go next? We are looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
I received a letter from my daughter last week on Wednesday. She's doing well. I actually got THE BOX on Monday and was a little teary eyed, but started crying when my mom called to ask if I had heard from my daughter. I thought she'd call this weekend, but no such luck. I've been writing to her as much as possible. I was in the Army and I remember looking forward to mail call!
Hey Proudmama, Glad you finally got your daughters letter. I got Wade's a on Fri. No not, no smiley face, NOTHING!!! I am soooo very anxious to actually hear from Wade! I NEED to know he is ok!
I have made hotel reservations, with Navy Lodge. Ive heard great things about them and they are only 1.5 miles from training facility. They charged $65 per night no taxes!! Actually, there are a few mom's from the same ship & divisions that have already made there reservations for there!!! Join us!!! As for flights, No I havent. Im sooo nervous about making them. I looked at the flights that were transferable, and they more than double in price. I simply cant afford that. There are 4 of us flying up and it would be close to $3500 with those tix. So I figured wait til after the 3rd week, then make flight reservations, surely if he would be set back it wont be after that...
Also, I created us a facebook page if you are interested for our ship and divisions!! If your interested, go to group PIR 8/10 and look in discussions, you'll see FACEBOOK and our ship info.. simply click on the cute little facebook icon, and itll take you to the page. you'll have to click to join, and ill gladly accept you!!! Just tell me your name on there... So ill know its you!!
Hi ProudMama!
I agree, I am missing my son so much it hurts! I did receive his box today, which broke my heart.. there were NO sneaky notes hidden away for me! Believe me, I checked EVERY NOOK & CRANY

If you get yours let me know!!!

Calls for Recruits.org would like you to know about a program for the Men and Women of our Armed Forces. I am giving away free phone cards for Recruits to use while they are in basic training to keep in touch with Family Members and Loved Ones. I feel that the Family, Loved Ones, nor the Men and Women of our Armed Forces should have to pay for phone calls from Boot Camp. Please click the link above and get your new Service Member the FREE phone cards they need.
