...after she landed a few minutes ago. She said they won't be allowed to use their phones anymore so I'll get the "I'm here and I'm fine" call in a little while, I guess.
It is a little strange but I haven't cried. I think it is because after the recruits came out of their travel arrangement briefing, K was made the "group leader" of the Navy recruits. I think it gave her the confidence she needed to get over that last bit of nerves. That's not to say that in about 3 hours…

It just seems to be going by so fast next month he turns 18 I just cant believe how much he has grown into a young man looking back at all his pictures when he was little who would have guessed that when I put him in his little Navy outfit at 6months old he would be a Eagle Scout…

...24 hours until I drop K off at the Recruiters station, I found this quote. It helped explain a lot of the random tears to her.

I have been waiting on that phone call for days, When you love and miss someone so much all you want to do is sit by the phone. I get so excited when the phone rings, but my heart sinks when its not. I know I am going to cry like a little baby when he calls but all I want is to hear his voice again. I know this is only for 2 months, but I am ready to have him home with me already. I am kinda scared to talk to him because I don't want him to worry about me being upset about him leaving.

Well today I was feeling a little low about my son even though he is still home I can't keep my mind from wondering then steps up a lady to my work window wearing a Navy sweat shirt wow can we say a sign telling me everything will be ok. I introduced myself and she has a son in California and is a Navy Seal. It was pretty great wish I would have gotten her name maybe next time until then I will stick with guardian angel :) lol

So, this post might be a little boring...but I am posting so other newbies know what to expect.
We've been able to talk to our son several times...still has a cellphone. Last night "they" took the SR's at the hotel to dinner and then had a meeting at 10 pm to discuss what will happen today. 4:30 this morning they took him and the others back to MEPS. He said lots of sitting around and paper work occurred. He sworn in again as active duty. Around 12, the SR's were put on a…

When I went got home from school, i went over to my fiance's families house and decided to hang out there for a little while. When I got there my soon to be sister-in-law told me that they got a letter from Jared. I was so excited to see what it had said. I started crying when I actually saw it was from him & I had fianlly gotten his address to send him all my letters. When his step-mom Tammy got home she opened it and i took a deep breath and we started reading it and we both started…

...for a last visit with the grandparents before heading to GL Monday. The tears started the moment we arrived thanks to Grandma. ;). She gave a perfect definition of the tears. She said, "I am just a little verklempt." I've been trying to explain that to K for the last few months. She finally understands!
Right now, she is at the gun range with her dad and grandpa getting in a little practice. She is a good shot when relaxed so they are going to see how she does under…
