I think my son will be enlisting very soon. He at least wants us to meet with the recruiter before he takes that next step. I find myself excited for him - he really wants to do this. Right now, at least, I'm not even too nervous about him leaving (but I'm sure that will change!). Last night our family gathered at a local restaurant to honor my dad on his 77th birthday. I can't believe I'm almost an empty-nester!  Seems I've been waiting for this a loooong time. And yet.... I got my first letter today! I'm missing my son so much. but I'm so very proud. Praying every day and night. keeping him and all the other recruits in lifted in prayer. Talked to him last Monday, missed my first phone call on Sunday, but I'm glad we talked, he's doing good. My son is in Great Lakes, IL. USS Marvin Shields,Ship 13,096. I can't wait to see him in February! 

We got Thomas' BOX yesterday and got our first letter today.  It was a form letter, but who cares! He's on Ship 11 Div 106....graduation date is 03/06/15! Can't wait!

Our son will receive his wings soon and I know nothing about the ceremony, nor do I have any ideas on a gift?  Any ideas would be appreciated.

My SR got to call home Sat. and I was so excited to hear from him.  He told me that he was doing good but he has never been as cold as he is now.  He could not believe that they have to get up so early.  I laugh because I thought back to when I was in BC and we had to get up real early and could not talk to anyone until we got through with training at the end of the day.  He also told me that they made him through away all of his candy.  I told him he would be okay.   It will be over before…
