We are truely on the count down till KK leaves. Today is March 14th and She leaves on Aoril 17th. I have know idea what to expect. I wish I knew more of what was going to go on, ie where she is gonna be when she can come home !! I cant stand the thought of it all but I am trying to put on my strong face for her. As I know the reality and anxiety of it is setting in for her. I hope I meet other moms of kids that are with her so we can share !!

Its been exactly one week and 2 days since my daughter left for boot camp and i never thought i would miss her this much. Even though she had her own room she slept with me every nite. When her step-dad came along she eventually inched her way in the bed with us(smh) we would have to get out the bed and let her fall to sleep and then wake her up later to get in her bed. She said it was my presence she slept with at nite that made her feel safe and loved. I miss my baby so much.

Hi all,
My daughter Courtney is my first born and leaves in Sept. for boot camp. I am a mess. I think I may be having separation issues already. She is eighteen and graduating high school in May. With all the party planning and other school activities going on I know that the next six months will be gone in a flash and she will be gone. I am terrified for her and excited at the same time. I dont let on to her how much Im going to miss her yet because Im afraid to discourage…

I FINALLY received my PIR FORM letter today... and to my shock due to the delay... his PIR date is 4/27/12... He is Ship II DIV 134... he left for bc on 2/29/12... Although my son did not leave me a small note... he did write a giant goofy smiley face on the back... that is "so" my son's personality... I'm very HAPPY today!!!!!

Erin signed her contract and swore in today! She is going in as an IT (still in the intelligence field) and will leave for boot camp on May 15th. After boot camp she will go to Pensacola, Florida for her A school. She is exhausted and home sleeping. I am just so proud. That's all I know for now.

Dear All, I am sorry to be a pest but I have more information to put out there in hopes someone can give me some good advice on behalf of my daughter. On November 21, 2011, I posted about the behavior of my son-in-law while he was attending A school and his rejection of my daughter etc. He put them into over $6600 in debt, told her to give the baby up for adoption etc. She contacted the chaplain for advice and it ended up that he was sorry and she moved to Groton the middle of January. …

It's been awhile since I've posted to my blog. I think it's because my baby boy has graduated from boot camp. He's moved onto his new school in Charleston. He is no longer a recruit. He's actually a sailor.
We are facing him graduating from his A-school and moving onto power school in the next few days. I am truly excited about this next milestone in his life, but I can't lie and say that it doesn't scare me. Every milestone that he makes with his schooling just brings us another step…

I'm starting to genuinely miss my son now... not having the ability to call and speak with him is killing me... I know he is ok and I know he is safe and I'm no longer worried about him... other than worrying about an injury... I want more than anything the ability to send him a letter of encouragement... with a book of stamps and a phone card... I'm hoping tomorrow his PIR letter arrives...

So, I decided to create a newsletter for my son while he is in bootcamp. I know he hates to read, so a newsletter is a concise way of keeping him posted and a quick read. I included a section on "Words of Encouragement" where I include comments, etc that people tell me, post to our FB page, etc. I have a section on Jokes as well in addition to a section on Tidbits, where I write one or two sentences for each new bit of info, such as the latest scores on a game, who passed away, who got…
