For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Yes, today is day 51 since my son left for BC at GL. It has absolutely been the longest 51 days of my life! He is my firstborn & I find myself wondering where did the time go & when did this kid grow up? Yes, it's been 33 days. Have received letters for 4 weeks in a row. He mails them on Mondays & we've been receiving them on Thursdays. Thursday has become my favorite day of the week. Haven't been able to focus much at times, find myself wondering, what he's doing, guess it's the same of all of us moms, dads, wives, etc.? I understand the Navy must evaluate the new sailor recruits & see what they're made of...but this really tests what we're made of too! His letters are full of info…

Ok, technically I should have written this yesterday....but it was a busy day. Got more letters from my son, he also wrote separately to his sister. AND most of all received the week 3 PHONE CALL!!! The phone call was short, but it was fantastic to hear his voice. Call came in at just after 1800 our time. In his letters everything is now in military time, so I'm getting much better at it now too. Called his dad first on his cell & then me on mine. Got to talk for all of 1 minute…
