There he goes...

We dropped Bryce off at the Recruiters office today.  He will go through prep and stay overnight.  We will see his official swear in between 9am and 10am and be able to spend some time together until he leaves for his flight to the Great Lakes training center.  Wow! It's here and it is happening. Sad and happy at the same time.

New to this page. Looking for info about Bahrain.

HELLO ALL!!! Looking for any and all helpful information about Bahrain. We (husband, 10y/o son, 2y/o daughter and myself) will arrive in September. The sites that I have found are not too informative. Our son will be going to the 5th Grade and our daughter has never been to a daycare, however, we will be looking into some type of childcare once we've been there a little while. Thank you all in advance!

Left for Basic

My son made it to boot camp at Great Lakes on April 22,2014. He called me that night to let me know he made it safe and he was at the base. I got home this past Friday on April 25, 2014 and there was his box with his clothes and phone, it broke my heart. He  finished school last year and he just turned 19  02/09   This has just broke my heart but it is something that he wanted but I miss him so much. When will he get to call home. Did any one else son/ daughter go to boot camp on the 22.

Accepted to N4Moms 4/22

My son left for Boot-camp 4/14. His graduation date is June 6, I made hotel reservations the day I got the form letter and mailed him several letters the next day. He is assigned to Ship 13 Div 195. Would love to connect with others who have sons or daughters in this unit.

Got a letter today!

My SR sent me a letter, got it today! It made my day. That is after I quit crying. Hang in there Moms and Dads, I know our Son's and Daughter's are. My SR's letter was upbeat and positive. He says they have a lot of time to read the letters at night and not to skimp on them, they help more than we know.

One happy Navy Mom…

Survived the first night

I had no idea how hard this was going to be.  We took our son to the recruiters office yesterday morning.  He did manage to give me a call last night from the hotel.  This morning he will be officially swearing in and off to the Chicago.  I know in my head this is a wonderful journey we are on .  He is living his dream but my heart is so sad.  I hope he gets a chance to call me while traveling today.  Waiting for the scripted call tonight.

Left this morning

My husband and I took our son to the recruiters office this moring to send him off.  We got to spend about an hour with him before the shuttle bus came to take him to Jax.  I tried not to cry but needless to say that did not happen. The tears come in waves ok for a bit than it hits you like to brick wall.  You cry a little than try to assume your day.  This was so much harder than I had expected.  Looking forward to getting the form letter so I can start sending letters.

Hello, my names Amanda, I'm new to this site. Hoping to get some help on questions I have. My boyfriend/soon to be husband is attending nuke school in South Carolina. I plan on moving out there sometime in October.. My question is will the navy help me move out there? I am a very determined person, and trying to learn all I can about the navy. I plan on spending the rest of my life with this guy so I'm trying to learn anything and everything I can. :)

Leaves tomorrow

Happy Easter to everyone!! Tomorrow is the day. Went out to dinner as a family last night. Great conservation and laughs. Feeling anxious about him leaving. The hardest part will be to not talk to him for so long. Collecting funny cards to send him. Have written a note to put in his wallet for him to find later. These next few days are not going to be easy. Happy to have other moms that can relate to how I'm feeling

Day 10

He left 10 days ago....... We have our hotel and flight set. I was told to get refundable tickets, WOW! the cost is 3 times the amount of a ticket. So I went with South West Air if you need to change your date they charge 10% of the ticket cost. That is $41 bucks for us or we could pay an extra $700 ish for a refundable one. Ummmmm, No thank you. Ha! …
