We dropped Bryce off at the Recruiters office today. He will go through prep and stay overnight. We will see his official swear in between 9am and 10am and be able to spend some time together until he leaves for his flight to the Great Lakes training center. Wow! It's here and it is happening. Sad and happy at the same time.

I got home this past Friday on April 25, 2014 and there was his box with his clothes and phone, it broke my heart. He finished school last year and he just turned 19 02/09 This has just broke my heart but it is something that he wanted but I miss him so much. When will he get to call home. Did any one else son/ daughter go to boot camp on the 22.

My son left for Boot-camp 4/14. His graduation date is June 6, I made hotel reservations the day I got the form letter and mailed him several letters the next day. He is assigned to Ship 13 Div 195. Would love to connect with others who have sons or daughters in this unit.

My SR sent me a letter, got it today! It made my day. That is after I quit crying. Hang in there Moms and Dads, I know our Son's and Daughter's are. My SR's letter was upbeat and positive. He says they have a lot of time to read the letters at night and not to skimp on them, they help more than we know.
One happy Navy Mom…

One more online class, macroeconomics, and my Sailor will have earned her Bachelors degree from Southern New Hampshire University! She's been on the east coast, west coast and the far side of the world and by the end of the summer she will have a degree in Business Admin from a college less than 3 miles from home.
Bad news is that she has used up her …

I had no idea how hard this was going to be. We took our son to the recruiters office yesterday morning. He did manage to give me a call last night from the hotel. This morning he will be officially swearing in and off to the Chicago. I know in my head this is a wonderful journey we are on . He is living his dream but my heart is so sad. I hope he gets a chance to call me while traveling today. Waiting for the scripted call tonight.

My husband and I took our son to the recruiters office this moring to send him off. We got to spend about an hour with him before the shuttle bus came to take him to Jax. I tried not to cry but needless to say that did not happen. The tears come in waves ok for a bit than it hits you like to brick wall. You cry a little than try to assume your day. This was so much harder than I had expected. Looking forward to getting the form letter so I can start sending letters.

He left 10 days ago....... We have our hotel and flight set. I was told to get refundable tickets, WOW! the cost is 3 times the amount of a ticket. So I went with South West Air if you need to change your date they charge 10% of the ticket cost. That is $41 bucks for us or we could pay an extra $700 ish for a refundable one. Ummmmm, No thank you. Ha! …

My son just got picked up for EOD this week. His original ship date was June 12th but this will change now that he has a new contract. Does anyone know if ship dates are moved up or moved out after signing new contracts?
