Celebrating My Sailor

This young man came home with a serious appetite. His requests are sweet Mexican pastries (pineapple empanadas), Vietnamese spring-rolls, Cuban meat turnovers, Tortas al Pastor (pork meat), Jerry Built Homegrown burgers, Arroz con Leche (sweet rice pudding), Rudy's BBQ, Shiner Bock beer, and of course being from Texas can't miss out on Whataburger. HAPPY to spoil him!!!

No word about my daughter's status

My daughter was scheduled to graduate Dec 13, 2013. I got a call the 11th telling us she would not graduate because she failed the running test. (Thankfully we had planned on driving) That is all the information she gave us over the phone. We read and researched about what happens from this point forward. Stressing!!

Hi All,  My wonderful son leaves on Jan 15 for Great Lakes.  I have so many questions and he is so relaxed and accepting.  He has a student loan.  We will get him set up for automatic withdrawals, but how does he get his bills.  I am mostly talking about after basic.  What happens when he is on a submarine?  Does he get mail?  He can't if he is underwater for 3 months.  Will I be able to talk to him when he is on a sub?  There is a lot of recommendations on what to do to prepare for basic,…

Best Xmas gift

Christmas Day, 2013 Today I was woken up with a phone call that came from Wisconsin. It was a call from my son. It was the best Xmas gift to me ever, just listening to his voice.!!! His division, was adopted by a Methodist Church, for Christmas Day!!! They fed them steak and lots of goodies. They have multiple phones and computers including iPads, and Xbox so recruits can have a good time and call relatives. It's a free day. Thanks to the people there, my son " feels nice to talk to nice sweet… Continue

How to celebrate my sailor coming home for Christmas

We are driving back to our home state and we are planning to surprise the family. Its a small family but I can't get them to come over the day after Christmas. Maybe I should lure them with an extra gift!! By the way my sailor wants a big gathering he deploys in two weeks and will be gone for 2-3 years.
