While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Finally

I finally got a 15 mins call from my son. Since the " am here" call, today my son called. It was the most exciting moment for me for 2016. He sounds good, considering he has a cold. He said the first 3 days was rough but they made it through.I can't wait to see him at graduation. I miss him dearly..anyone who haven't received a call from your recruit, hang on its coming.

address

I am so confused. My daughter sent one address on the form letter that I received about a week ago. I got a letter from her today with a totally different return address on this letter than the one on the form letter. Does this mean she won't get my earlier letters? I had also passed this other address onto other family members.

Should I use the new address on the most recent personally written letter I received from her today?

Please help with this. I don't want…

Envelope sizes

I just got a letter from my daughter today. She asked me to send a "bun" maker for her hair. Is it okay for me to do that? Is there a limit on the size of the envelope I send her because I was also going to send her photos?

woohoo. Just got 3 Letters from my son. I am so happy to hear from him.. He sounds like he's going good. Had a rough couple days he said but he ok now. He said his brothers in his division are pushing him.

My daughter left on 12/09/15. It was so very hard to say goodbye to my baby girl!! Anyone else have a child on the same ship as mine? She is due to graduate 2/5/15

feature boot camp mom

My son leaves March 23, 2016. I am nervous and scared already. I shouldn't be my oldest son is in the Army. I am more nervous now than before. I relate to the crazy emotions.

Ship 11 Div 087

My daughter left on 12/08/15. I received a very short letter form her and got concerned because I'd sent her three letters already and from her letter I can tell that she hasn't gotten mine yet. I also noticed that there are only three names on her list for graduation when I need for there to be four because we're a family of 5 including her. So it concerns me to think that one of her siblings won't be able to attend. I'm trying not to get nervous about anything but it's hard.

New Navy mom

Hi everyone, my son left on December 14th for boot camp. I got the "I made it safe" call. 3 days later I received the box with his stuff. Does anyone know when is the next call? I miss my son, the hardest thing is not being able to call to find out how he is doing.I have no idea when is graduation.

My son is having a hard time emotionally

Can anyone tell me what am I suppose to do whenever your child is having a hard time emotionally. My heart bleeds for him. His first phone call home and it was that. Not what I expected.

Awaiting a Real Phone Call - anyone on Ship 4 Div 084?

Hi, I got a "made it safely" call about 2 weeks ago and around 1 am. We got the form letter with a grad date of Jan 29th and hoping to get a call this week where we can all talk to my son. the Holidays will not be the same with him being gone. I really hope the recruits aren't too lonely over the holidays..

30 Second Phone Call

Got my 30 second phone call at 2:30 a.m. So glad to hear his voice even though he sounded tired -- haha so did I. Dropped him off at the recruiters as per his request on Monday at 10:00 a.m. I knew not to expect a call until Tuesday but it was a good thing a friend told me the call can come in the middle of the night. Helpful video on uTube helpful too. He didn't bring anything to send home so he let me know I won't be getting the letter most get. So 3 weeks and waiting. So proud I…

Last day

well, today is my sons last day home before he leaves for boot camp. I am very emotional. Went to church this morning and they had a special prayer for him, went out to lunch with some friends and then we came home and packed up his room. I have cried so much today that my eyes are killing me. How am I suppose to say goodbye to him tomorrow. I can't do this..
