It has been a year since my husband joined the navy and six months since he left for boot camp. As of right now he is in for four years active followed by four years on reservs. He is stationed in Cuba and will be there for about three years. My question is does his four years start as soon as he enlisted or when he left for boot camp or when? I hear different things and not sure which is right. Does anyone know for sure?

Well My Sailor is done with A school and came home on June 13th, it was awesome all his family was at the airport to greet him. He will be stationed in San Diego for the next 3yrs, we were praying for San Diego and the lord answered our prayers. This will make it a lot easier for us to see him more often. Well this is it. We are going to St Lawrence at 11am mass. Lunch then we meet Joshua recruiter at 2pm. We follow them to Louisville and get to have dinner with Josh. In the morning we watch our son get sworn in then we wait at the airport until he leaves to start his journey with the Navy. Prayers that I can stay strong and not cry the whole time......

My son left for boot camp June 12th out of Los Angeles? Anyone else?

My son is leaving for bootcamp on June 25th.  When he signed up last year, it seemed like it was so far away it would never get here.  I am so proud of him and the choices he's made.  While I'm excited for him, I am also worried.  As I'm sure most moms are.  If he's at all nervous, he's hiding it very well.  Now that the ship date is almost here, my anxiety levels are on the rise.  I hope everything goes well for this first experience of…

Hi Everyone, just wanted to know if anyone knows what time the ships leave on deployment day. I am trying to know for airlines tickets, I have to be there when he leaves so this is so important for me to know. I hope all our children are doing well & that God watches over them all.

Been a while since I have posted on here but I am always reading the blogs lol. Life, family situations has kept me busy not to mention spending some time with my son before he leaves for Japan. He will be gone for 2 years - which seems like an eternity! lol  

I am very happy for him in that he is getting to explore the world and pursue a better life for himself, but yet sad that he will be so far away......all I can say is thank God for Skype, email and lots of phone calls!…

I am proud to be a mother of two Sailors (Well one is still a recruit)  but left today for Boot Camp.  My other son is an AC in Oceania, VA.. Very excited to follow fellow mothers (and fathers) once again.

Anyone from Phoenix Arizona that has a SR that is leaving June 17 to bootcamp? 

My son left June 5th and I am so proud and very sad at the same time, he is the baby and last to leave home, its so quiet without him, counting the days til graduation. 

We can send pictures to them while they are in boot camp right? I'm pretty sure they can but I just wanted to make sure.

My son is in boot camp right now in Great Lakes but he is going to A school in Pencacola Fl soon does anyone know how long he will be there before he gets to leave base?
