OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

the box

Maybe it's just me but I thought getting the box was a very difficult day for me... And I absolutely hate that they call it "the kid in the box".  I get what they mean but I think it is extremely morbid!!

restaurant suggestions???

I was also looking for a nice place for dinner...  any suggestions from the seasoned moms??  My SR graduates 9/14.  Never wanted to rush my children's lives but these next 4 weeks need to pass quickly.  We begin a week at the Jersey shore on 8/25 and then the whilwind begins of school starting.  A week and a half later we leave for Chicago...  I was lucky that I did get to talk to him and the letters keep coming but we can't wait to see him!!!!  As I know you all can appreciate...

the letter

We got our first letter last Thursday, he left July 17th... Cried from word one. But I will say, and maybe it was just him, but the first and last paragraph, while beautiful, were definately not his words. The middle part of the letter was 100% him and made us laugh and cry at the same time. Regardless, was beyond thrilled to get it and can't wait for a phonecall!!! September 14th can't get here fast enough!!!
