Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My daughter left today for boot camp...left from Sacramento, CA. Can't wait to see her again...8 weeks, ugh. We are sitting at home waiting for the "I'm here, I'm Okay...gotta go" phone call.

i wouldnt hang around the phone..it makes time go by slowly...if you can cary it will you but dont gt your hopes up...i personally didnt get my "i'm here i'm okay" call till 8 days after he got there..i had his "box" before i got his call...it was very upsetting..i really hope you get your call tonight though...
hang in there... remember its okay to cry and miss her...start writing letters and there are plenty of us (wives, moms, husbands, dads etc..) here to support you if you need anything... my husband is still at great lakes and wont have his PIR (graduation) till june 25th... it's been hard but you get through it..one day at a time

Greetings from another Californian. The five groups below are all within the San Franicsco Recruiting District. Visit each group’s page. Read through the comments. Select the CA group nearest where you live and/or one where you think you’ll be comfortable. You can join as many group as you like. You’ll find me in the San Francisco Bay Area Navy Families and the Northern California Navy Moms (Sacramento & Foothills) group almost everyday. My son is a nuke on a sub. Look forward to hearing about your sailor.
