Today has been a real challenge for me. I think that I am the one that is homesick. Missing my son. I know that he is off to bigger and better things in his life and I am so thankful for that. I just miss my son. He always know the right words to put a smile on my face. Thankful for a better day. I know that I would have days like this......Just to hear him say "Momma or Michelle" would be priceless.

Awww, I understand completely how you're feeling.  On days like this, just remind yourself that we have raised fine young men and that THIS is now their time to shine and to grow into awesome adults.  It's a process that you're going through and with time it will be easier.....find something to keep yourself occupied.....stay busy.  It's also a time that we can find aspects of ourselves to focus on.....learn something new.  Hang in there......you're definitely in the right place to be.  Welcome to N4M's!

Hi I know exactly how you feel my son Brandon the youngest of my 3 sons 17yrs old just left on the 20th of Sept. and i feel so lost i do have someone to keep me busy my 5yr old daughter but i feel like my head is in a cloud me and dad had to clean his room like but his stuff in boxes and just arrange his things and i feel as if i lost my son i just got his box back with all his belongings that he left with and i had another day of feeling down and crying i know it's for his betterment but... It's hard I've had a headache for like 3days straight I'm trying not to think too much about but its the everyday things that make me miss him ..like Dinner time he had this thing he would always walk in from sch when we sat down to eat and we would tell him you smell the food that's why you came home huh? :) after dinner he LOVED to play his Guitar and was always making up new songs and melody and was always around me asking me mom listen to this listen to that now when i do the dishes i find tears coming down. From one mom to another they say it will soon get better and i pray for it we will be better soon. When i get a chance to talk to him i think i will feel a bit better good luck and God bless

You know, I have to add.....in my earlier post, I said hang in there cuz it does get easier....but what I didn't tell you is that I did exactly the same thing you are doing.  My youngest went to Boot Camp in Summer 2009.  I couldn't see any of his friends around town without bawling......I would have melt-downs at home where I cried and snapped at my poor hubby.  Was the damnedst thing.....cuz in my heart, I knew this was meant to be his path and HE was (and still is) happy.  Everyone handles things differently....and I was just like you and also RainMom.  So, just take a deep breath and know that it does get easier with time....look forward to their PIR's.  And remind yourself that this is what we've raised them for.  :o)   Muwahhh!
