My husband left December 13th and the first few weeks were by far the hardest. Still now I get down, but I don't let him know that. When I write him letters I keep upbeat and positive because I don't want him to feel bad for leaving me. I make sure he knows in every letter that he's the strongest, bravest man I know and that I am SO proud to call him MY husband! I use to cry everyday, in the morning when I woke up alone, during the day I would find myself dreaming of him and of course cry when I realized he wasn't here, and at night when I laid in bed alone. Now I'm very proud to say that I only cry when I get letters from him, but not sad tears, happy tears because his letters are so uplifting.
I'm finally getting used to living alone, I know that was the hardest struggle I was going to have to get through because when he leaves for deployment I'll be alone for many months at a time. My friends are the greatest, even though they don't know exactly what I'm going through. Their always there for me when I need to talk about him, and never give me a hard time for talking "too much" about my situation, because trust me I definitely do! :)
N4M's has gotten me through the hardest times, the first blow of my husband being gone for the first time. I'd highly recommend this site to anyone! Thank you ladies for all your help, and the sharing of your letters and phone calls. I truly don't know what I would've done without this site.
Navy Aunt, thank you very much. I love this site, and love the fact that I can express what I'm feeling in these blogs. :) We're going to be staying at the Navy Lodge actually, I called Sunday and made all the reservations. I'm so damn excited to see him!
Texas Mom, thank you also! I thought at the beginning I was going to fall apart, but my days are better and happier now! :)
