Hey! I've been good! :) It HAS been awhile haha, what have you been up to?! I saw your post about having your guy back next weekend! AHHH! ^_^ I'm so happy for you! LOL, mine still has a looong way to go, but we're in the process of planning out a weekend for me to fly over to SC to see him in 5 weeks!

At 3:54pm on June 25, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

No no call yet. He said they  battle stations tonight so to keep my phone close tomorrow! I got to speak with him for an hour and 30 minutes on Saturday :)!... He is really excited about friday! Do you have a facebook page?

Aww! That's so cute that he wants to "do things right" and you guys are talking about marriage! :) We brought it up the other day too, which is KIIINDA crazy 'cause we've only been together for 4 months, but he says he doesn't believe in being with someone for more than 2 or 3 years and not be married. sooo who knows what will happen? lol

Your brother's story does sound a bit like mine. We were really good friends for a long time but were with someone else, then before he left, we finally admitted it to each other xD

Oh, how exciting! Hope your first job experience is more interesting than mine was hahaha. I worked at Legoland as my first job -__- Lesson learned, theme parks are SO much more exciting when you're not there every day. Where are you planning on working?!

At 4:51pm on June 20, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

Oh wow! I pray for him daily and thank you for doing so also! :).. He is in division 203. Mail day is Thursday or Friday, I am in Florida and for some reason it takes a while to get here!

He had achilles tendinitis. How close to graduation is battle stations. He graduates next Friday so would it be this week or next week? And Facebook really??? How do they get access to that lol!!! I haven't seen him on Facebook in over 2 months so that will be awesome to see write on my wall! I am sooo excited. The only thing that sucks is that he wont have a cell phone until he gets a school and I can ship it to him. :(

At 11:00pm on June 19, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

Yea I know he told me that some were there for over 8 months! My sweetie said he was determined to get better to get back home to me! :) I am sooo proud of him. Usually people with his injury spends atleast 4 weeks in RCU. So we were so blessed that he made it out of there... When did you get your " I'm a sailor" call after battlestations and how long was it?

At 10:24pm on June 19, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

His original grad date was June 15th! :(

At 11:23am on June 19, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

Yea I hate it too. I wish we could all just get along. And next year is great if you both are ready no need to rush. We are aiming for a wedding date March 10th. I will be 28 by and he'll be turning 25 five days after the wedding so we will be celebrating his bday on our honeymoon. I am starting to get really anxious about his graduation... The only thing that sucks is that he wont have a phone. I talked to his sister today and she said that their parents might not be there either which makes me feel horrible that no one will be there for him.  :(.. When you were there did you see any sailors who didn't have any family at graduation?

At 12:50am on June 16, 2012, kling said…

Yeah, I don't think I would have been ready to move in with my boyfriend if we were just getting out of high school either. Lol, it's cute that his family loves you enough to want you guys to be married! That's adorable! :)

But yeah, I feel old haha, moving in with him doesn't scare me the least bit like it would have 3 years ago >_< He's 22 and I'm about to be 21, and by the time he'll be in Prototype, I think moving with him to New York would be so exciting! He says he wants to end up with me, so who knows?! Maybe we'll both be back here in a few years with pictures too! :P

Do you know if they have any other graduations? Like besides PIR? Any plans for your FIRST summer out of high school!?

At 2:48pm on June 15, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

No I can't the notice was too short. :( :( :(.. The cheapest ticket is $400 and the times are crazy. The ticket that can accommodate my schedule is almost $600. That is way too high for my budget. Plus his family and I are not in good standings.  So I guess it is for the best. I wont be able to go to see him in A school because by the time he phases up to be allowed to sleep off base he'll be home a week or two later. So We will just have to skype until he gets back... I am not worried.  Today marks 2 months since I've seen him. I know I can survive 2 more months, once he gets out of boot camp we will be able to communicate and see him so it will make it easier. Plus I start summer classes July 2nd. So lots going on for both of us... Once he gets back we are going out of town for a few days. We are planning a beach wedding in the neighborhood in Miami where I grew up. So I am going to take him there for the weekend to meet my family down there and check out the surroundings. :).. September please hurry up and get here! Have you guys talked anymore about wedding plans?

At 2:21am on June 15, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

Since they are with the reserves they can try to find their position with the navy and work as a contractor for the navy. That is what my boyfriend is going to try and do once he gets back.

At 1:54am on June 15, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

Oh that is soooo Awesome! Daniel will be back the third week in August. Are you going to his A school graduation? Does he plan on trying to get a contract on base when he gets home?

At 12:45am on June 15, 2012, kling said…

I know! Guys are weird, they'll take all these silly pictures with their friends, but when their girlfriends want just ONE picture, they get all weird about it haha >_/p>

And we were actually talking about that the other night. I can graduate from my university in a year, which is about the same time he'll be done with Power School, and I'm not sure if he was joking or not, but he started talking about how he wants to move me to New York with him when he goes to Prototype. So who knows?! I'm just focusing on one visit at a time though so I don't get my hopes up.

What about you two?! Reserves, that's really great for the two of you :) He'll be RIGHT THERE! Any plans for you guys' future?

At 12:34am on June 15, 2012, Mandisa-R said…

Hi Vanessa! I spoke with my SR today and he graduates now on 06/29/2012. So I am super excited. His A-school is in Gulfport, MS for 7 weeks how about your SR? Oh yea yesterday was our 7th month :).. So it seems we are right behind each other!

At 7:58pm on June 13, 2012, kling said…

Oh wow, has it really been that long for you two?! :) One year, that's awesome! Congrats in advance! Do you have an ideas of what to do yet?

And yeah, mine hates taking pictures too, so we'll see how THAT goes.

I've already told mine and they seem kinda iffy about it, but they say as long as I'm happy. As for his, I'm really hoping he tells them before he gets leave for Christmas so we can actually see each other a lot more.

So what's in store for you guys now? His A School's really short right? Any dream stations you want him to be stationed at? :)

At 4:37pm on June 13, 2012, kling said…

I'm SO glad everything's back to normal for ya! :)

Things are basically normal for us here too! I get a text every morning from him (which is like 2AM my time, lol but I don't care xD), and we Skype for hours before he has to go to sleep. Boot camp seems like forever ago now that we can talk to them, doesn't it?!

When I fly out to see him in October, maybe I can get him to wear his dress whites and we can take a picture just as adorable as the one of you and your sailor! :)

And yeah! Do keep in touch! It's definitely really nice to have friends that understand what it's like to be with a Navy guy :)

At 7:52pm on June 4, 2012, kling said…

Aww btw Team Leo - your new profile pic of you and your sailor looks ADORABLE! Haha I can't wait 'til I get my own picture like that -__-

At 10:43pm on May 30, 2012, kling said…

I didn't get a call either :/ BUT, they said all of Div 170 passed so yay! :)

I don't know if you're as excited as I am, but I'm like SO EXCITED FOR ALL OF YOU! Please come back and tell me how PIR was! Hope you and your SAILOR have an amazing time this weekend!

At 5:06pm on May 24, 2012, kling said…

Maybe you'll get it sometime later today! :)

I think his is next week, so I still have a few days. Hopefully he gets to call me, or his family, or both!

At 4:29pm on May 24, 2012, kling said…

Hey Vanessa! Did you get the call from your SR after Battle Stations yet?! A few moms from the PIR group in Ship07/Div164 said they all passed! :D Only one week left, AHH!!
