A little about me:
I’m a stay at home mom, wife of a truck driver, we have one more in the nest. Our youngest daughter just went to basic training/boot camp. I take online classes, enjoy helping others. I love going to the beach and listening to music. I miss my baby girl, but I’m so proud of her and support her decision to join the Navy. I pray for these weeks to go by without a glitch and for my daughter and her division to pass all the requirements.

The Navy offers opportunities that...
Will help McKynzie to continue to grow and mature. She will develop and learn new skills and have opportunities for advancement in her new career. She will have the opportunity to earn a degree, save for her future, serve our country, see new places and meet new people all while earning an income at a young age.
Our Navy experience so far...
has presented us with many questions., is a work in progress!

Butterfly1kynzie'smom,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! So sorry it has taken me so long to send this to you but my husband and I are traveling and I don't always get on my computer. But I'm glad you found us! So your daughter is in boot camp now? Come join the conversations on our group page - there is usually someone on every day. We are a friendly, caring group of moms who have daughters in all stages of Navy life - from newbies to those whose daughters have been in for several years - from officer to enlisted!!! We support all our sailor girls and each other as well. Not just during the Bootcamp days but the weeks and months following, as they go off to school, first duty station, or first deployment.  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  We look forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!

What division is your recruit in?

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members."

Donna24, you may also want to make change 2.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have a recruit at RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to “Enlisted” or “At Boot Camp now.” Either is appropriate, but if you make the change to “Enlisted” now, then you will not have to change it again.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info.

If you would like information on your recruit’s rating (job/occupational specialty) or field, then let me know the rating or field. There are groups for most specialties and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend.

Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.

Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
