For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor,NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I am married with 3 children. My oldest daughter just got married, my youngest daughter just moved to Wyoming and got engaged, and my son (my baby) is leaving for basic on August 15. I work full time as a medical asst and my husband and I will be relocating at the end of September.

I have siblings and my father that was in the Navy. Somehow it seems different now that it's my kid........I know its an awesome opportunity for him. Many doors will be opened for him.

Laura, I don't think we are going to get there in time for meet and greet either. Our SRs sister and girlfriend won't be able to leave until around 5pm and we are driving, 7 hours, I think, so it will really be over by the time we get there! Hopefully, we will still get to meet each other!
Laura...Welcome to the discussion group. Just a reminder that OPSEC rules really don't want pictures of the boys or names of boys, for the spec op divisions, so you may want to change the profile picture. It is for the safety of our boys, as they go further into the process.
