Sue,
There was a bit of delay with the computer network on the submarine but we are back up and around now.

WOW!!! The work and care that your team has put in to the pillow cases is nothing short of amazing! The crew absolutely loves the pillow cases. I can't express enough how excited the Sailors were to get their chance to pick out the one they wanted. The selection that was sent was what had everyone in awe. The berthings on the boat are now as warm and colorful as the gift your team gave to the USS TEXAS. The personalized cards and tags on every single pillow case really showed just how much time and effort went into making this happen. A little inside joke but the Sailors are brushing their teeth! Carol C hand wrote a personalized card for each and every pillow case the made, in the card she closed the note with "Don't forget to brush your teeth." The soaps and toiletries will go to great us on the ship with Sailors sometimes forgetting the essentials for getting underway. I have placed the cards from the school in the mess decks (the place where the crew eats) for all the team to see the pride and thank yous from the Manzanita Elementary school.

Request an address to each and everyone that helped make this happen and the School in Tucson. We would like to send some thank you cards out to the teams to show our appreciation.

Very appreciatively,

Ma'am,

On behalf of the officers and crew of the USS MICHAEL MURPHY please accept my sincere appreciation for the pillow cases that you sent. Our Sailors truly appreciate knowing that there are people back home thinking of us and praying for us. We received packages from all over the country and that speaks volumes about the patriotism that we have in our great country. I hope that you continue to have the ability to send these to other deployed Service Members' it really boosted morale and I can't thank you enough.

I have attached a few photos of the ship and crew. Thank you and God Bless.

Best,

Heads at Ease,

My name is Andrew. I'm currently deployed on the USS Michael Murphy. I work as an
electrician repairing all electrical systems of helicopters. Just wanted to take a
little time to let you moms and grandmas know that your pillows are greatly appreciated!
Thank you for what you do.

Dear Friends,

I am Chief Petty Officer Samantha onboard USS Michael Murphy.  We recently received a
large donation of pillow cases from your organization and I wanted to take a second
to say thank you.  It nice knowing that people we do not even know think and care about
our well-being.  It also reminds the Sailors that what we do and sacrifice is meaningful
and appreciated by other people.  Keep doing what you do!

Sincerely,
Chief Samantha

Thank you for all the pillow cases! It means a lot to us! God bless! I wrote back and this
is what he said::  My pillow case is navy themed with several small navy logos, American flags
and ships. The opening of the pillowcase is white but the main color of the whole pillowcase is
dark blue. And you sound like you have a beautiful family. Thank you again for keeping us in
your thoughts and prayers while we are out on deployment.

Your sailor, Alex (this one makes me wonder if my Alex will become a sailor!)

I'm am an Operations Specialist Second Class on board USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112) currently
deployed. I received a pillow case today and wanted to say thank you to all of you who made
it and for the support you give to military members. The pillow case has definitely cheered me
up and I really like the polka dot design. Thank you very much to all of you and to those at
The Polka Dottie Quilters from Washington. It is your service that makes our job easier.

Very Respectfully, OS2(SW/AW)Bryan

Very Respectfully,  LS1 Waldemar

I would like to pass on my thanks to Sandy B, she crafted a fine soft pillow case with a
Dallas Cowboys trim. I sleep amazing on my new pillow case, it is like the Dallas Cowboys
are rocking me to sleep. Please pass on my appreciation and gratitude!

Respectfully,  Senior Chief Nathan

Ladies  of the Iowa Royal Neighbors of America Chapter (Atlantic),

From the bottom of my heart I'd like to say 'thank you' for the wonderful pillowcase.  Upon arriving at Incirlik Air Base over two months ago, I was offered to choose a pillowcase from among well over two dozen samples. Being an Iowa native, an Iowa Hawkeye pillowcase initially caught my eye; however, because my wife attended Iowa State, I selected a bright floral pattern instead.  That pillowcase has truly made my evening upon returning to my room after several long days at work.  My four-year old daughter also immediately noticed the pillowcase while speaking with her via Facetime one evening. I think she might have called dibs on it when I return home.

In sum, thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.  I imagine that you make hundreds of pillowcases.  Although that is not something you have to do, it is something you choose to do for many noble reasons.  Just know that your efforts are appreciated. I was very proud to discover that these pillowcase were handmade in Iowa. I made sure everyone in the room knew it too :) Thank you for the support!

Very respectfully and sincerely,

Pat

Hello,

I am FC2 Ashley off of the Oscar Austin. We recently received your pillow cases and every single one was beautiful in its' own way. Thank you guys for the beautiful craftsmanship, the love, and the support. I can't wait to use my new case! It really brings a sense of home our way and I know that's personally what I needed. Thank you all again.

Sincerely,

FC2(SW) Ashley

Mrs. Sue,

I absolutely LOVE Red Jumpsuit Apparatus!! If I could see them in concert, I definitely would! That is so neat that they are your step grandchildren.  Congratulations on your  grandson! That is super, super exciting! I have a godson that is currently stationed with his mother out of San Diego. I haven't seen the little guy in 3+ years. He's grown up so much and makes me cry every time we Skype!

My pillow case was a red fabric with little swirls and the end was sewn with a piece of American flag fabric. It was made by Stitches of Love out of Dayton, OH. I wish I knew who actually made it, I would love to write them a letter. The pillow case is beautiful and gives me a sense of pride in what I do.

Your personal reply means the world to me. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to write to me and explain your heartfelt story. Tell your son I thank him for his service and that he and many of the other veterans are my reason for carrying on every day.

Respectfully, Ashley

Heads at Ease/Marilu T.

Very Respectfully,  IT2(SW)Clyde

I am STG1 Robert onboard USS Oscar Austin, I received one of your pillow cases made by Sarah. I would like to say thank you very much to Sarah and all the other Moms back there.
