Not for sure what you are asking about his birthday. Recruits birthdays are just another day at the RTC.

somewhere I read not to acknowledge his birthday or quietly acknowledge it or they get extra IT or something

thanks  hooyahsuzy

My son left on August 23rd and his birthday is Monday 8/28. We celebrated before he left. I don't imagine he will tell anyone it's his birthday. If he has gotten friendly with another recruit he may tell him but other than that I think he will keep it to himself. He doesn't like attention on himself at home I KNOW he won't want any extra attention at BC. I'll be thinking of him every minute of that day though!!

NNLori-My son left on 8/21 and his birthday is on 9/19. We also celebrated before he left. That day will be extra difficult. I always made his birthday extra special every year. Doubt he'll share that info with anyone there. He'll be in my thoughts as well every minute of that day!
I know what your saying! I will think of him also on 9/19 so maybe you won't feel so alone that day!
Timsmom97- wouldn't it be cool if they ended up in the same ship and division. I'll let you know when I find out where he is so we can compare.
NNLori-That would be great! Please keep me updated.
NNLori- and I will think of your son on Mon also. It is tough but we will get through this together.

Absolutely! 2 proud Navy Mom's!

Hi my husband also left aug 23 ❤️
Hi Jamie! We will have to keep in touch going forward and see if our guys end up in the same ship and division. Hang in there. I know it's hard to be completely disconnected. We are not used to it in this day and age because of the technology we have. I think that makes it so hard to wait for the letter!! I find this site is very informative and helps me feel more connected. I hope it helps you as well!
