My son as well. I will keep your son in my thought and prayers. I don't know about you but I am having a hard time adjusting to this new world. He was my youngest, so my husband and I feel the emptiness in the house. Even the animals are confused, but knowing there are others of us our there doing the same thing helps. Sending hugs!

I’m so sorry! I’ve had that empty feeling before. My son is a little older and has been gone from home for a few years. I went through that when he left. I remember it well. I can tell you that you’re going to make it. One thing you should do is focus on reconnecting with your husband. It’s your time to be together again. You’ll find that you will soon remember why you fell in love and your focus will return to each other.
And that is a very good thing because you will find that your son is about to become very mature and independent. It’s amazing how fast it happens. You are right to be very proud.
It took me a while to start getting my life back together and find my own hobbies.
I’m excited about going to Chicago in July. Will you be able to go?

I will be there in July!

My husband and I went to Chicago for the first time this year to visit and we had a blast. I don't know how much time we'll get to spend with our sailors but I'm still looking forward to it.  Can we say where we are from?  I guess I should review the rules again.

Trish, You can friend each other and send PM's, but saying where you are from is fine. (Yes, it is a good thing to check before posting when you are not sure.)

You will have from about 10:30 am when Liberty is called until sometime that evening with your new Sailor and then you will meet him at the airport sometime in the wee hours the next day and give him a few things before he flies out. There is info on how to plan your weekend in the info I left on your My Page about the MT rating earlier this week.

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

I hope to see you in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).

Hello Trish my son arrived this week as well, May 16th. I have been nervous, excited, proud, emotional...and just trying to keep it together.

Thank you for your kind words. You are so right, you go from falling in love to having kids and all of your activities and discussions surround them.....then all of a sudden you are here. We are actually going away this weekend just to re-coup. I will definitely be there in June. I would not miss this for the world!!

That sounds like fun.   I have to say that weird feeling does last for a few weeks. haha. Then one day you're like... I'm going to make it!!!

My son got there may 15. I didn’t realize how much the no communication would affect me! I’m so thankful for this site and all of you.

Welcome, Linda.
