Does anyone know if 15-19 class graduation takes place Friday or Saturday of August 16-17. Trying to make travel arrangements. My spouse was unsure of whether or not events start on Thursday and end Friday or commence Friday and end Saturday before he left.

OCS graduation usually is on Friday morning. And they usually have a reception Thursday afternoon.
Hi Bridget,
Be careful of making non-changeable travel arrangements TOO soon for OCS graduation. Candidates can and do "roll" for failing a test or inspection, and then must roll back to join the class behind them and start over, which will delay graduation by at least three weeks.
If your spouse is looking at graduation on August 16, then he must have just reported to OCS a week or so ago? There is a big RLP (Room, Locker, Personnel) inspection at week 3-4 that some in each class do fail and must go into "holding" class for three weeks, and join the next incoming class. Also, some of them might be passing everything, but may get injured or sick, so they are unable to do physical training and must sit out for a while. The point is, you can't be certain your officer candidate will graduate on time with the class they started.
If you are flying to graduation, I advise folks to book on Southwest Airlines to Providence, if they fly out of your city. Southwest didn't used to charge a fee for changing your reservation, (but I can't say for sure now.) I know some of the airlines charge very hefty fees for changing your flight dates, so I usually advise people to wait until closer to graduation to be sure your candidate will graduate on time. You can always change hotel reservations, but those airline fees can be expensive.
Good luck to your officer candidate!
Can we use this thread for moms of OCS class 15-19?
