Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Scarfs for Xmas, keeping count!

I will be doing scarfs for Christmas,to send to Afganistan. Since it takes a while to knit or crotchet a number of scarfs, I'm asking all of you for your help now. The scarfs will need to be no wider than 8 inches and 60 inches long and no fringe that could get caught in their gear. They must be desert camo, tans,and browns. Any of you have any questions, please let me know. The more scarfs the better. They will all be sent to our sailors and Marines to keep them warm. To those who don't knit & crochet the scarfs can be made of polar fleece. They actually have a fabric pattern that looks like a sand (grades of tans). Since the fleece is about 60" wide, all the you need to do is cut 7 or 8' wide stripes and the cut off the selvages to make them look neat.

We now have 250 scarfs.

I have 70 fleece scraves for the project that are in the required colors. I also have 29 that are made from other colors (blue, dark and light gray, black, etc,) if we have a need for them.

Hellooooo!I need help, especially now that my sailor will deploy at the end of November. Where do I send the scarves, notes, cards, goodies, etc? Is there a list to select from? I have been reading this site for hours, jumping from one to the other, laughing, crying and counting my blessings for "meeting' you all Navy Moms.So, I got distracted and lost. If the Navy is America's Navy, you all are America's Moms. What a power you all have!! So, please, guide me! Thaaaaaaaaaank you. Please...someone!!

We now have a shipping date. I would like to ship all the scarfs on Dec 1st. So if you are sending them to me then please get them to me before Thanksgiving. If you are shipping them, they got out on Dec. 1st.

Now, Please send me a count of your scarfs. I'm asking all of you to just send me your Name and the number of scarfs you have or will have done by Thanksgiving.

My knitting group has been in on this from the beginging. We have made 16 scarfs and 5 or 6 neckwarmers. I'm also going to get them to chip in for a smore box as well!

Do you have me down for 70 fleece scarves? I actually found 3 more that I forgot to put in the pile - so I now have 73 fleece scarves to send.

Lyn, is this a new count that you are starting? I will have 9 scarves-this includes the 6 that I told you about before. these are all crocheted. can I send scarves and stockings together?
