Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We received the letter today saying our son is in this division.  Anyone else have a loved one here?

My son is in this Division and on this ship!! I got his form letter and his box yesterday! I was go glad to get both on the same day. I am really looking forward to getting more letters from him and extremely excited to be going to see him graduate on Monther's Day weekend.
It looks like we have Ship 12 Div 183 discussions going in 3 different groups - Boot Camp Moms, Leavin' for Bootcamp in March and the PIR 5/07/2010 group. Before there get to be too many of us, should we settle on one and close the other two?

I recommend keeping the one in the PIR group since it shares with the other divisions on our grad weekend, but if anyone has strong feelings about going a different direction speak up.

Our son is in this group also. We got his box yesterday and his form letter. My wife and I intend to attend PIR. Where are all of you from. We are from southern Illinois.

When can we expect first phone call?
My son is in this group as well.... can't wait for the first phone call!!!!! We are from Maine : )
Welcome Bryonsmom....we are from Illinois
I think their next phone call will be next week...My son told me on his 30 second phone call that he would call in about three weeks. Last Tuesday was his first day, so this day is the start of week two and next tuesday will be week three so I am expecting a call sometime next week..really hoping for it to be next week at least.
I will by flying in from the Denver area
