My boyfriend hasn't even been there a week yet, but he's seriously depressed because he misses me... It makes me feel bad because he can't eat or sleep... and when he does, he only eats half his servings. and when he sleeps, he only sleeps for a few minutes and wakes up again. I don't know what else I could say to him to help him.  He said he wants to go to the chaplain to  vent, but he's scared he'll be medically discharged because he's not emotionally stable... is that possible?  Is this normal for him to be this depressed? or maybe it's just a phase he's going through for the first week or so he's there? He said that in bootcamp it wasn't that bad because they kept them busy, but in A school, my boyfriend hasn't even classed up yet.  So my boyfriend might be there for 6 months due to the wait, though he was expecting 9 weeks initially.  Please, any help would be very appreciated!!

Hoppi aka Angie 53, Can you give me any information on how the Uniform Allowance works and if there is even such a thing? My son has been in a year and is currently an E-3 stationed at USPACOM on shore duty?
Accept my friend request ASAP. I am also from CA. Here is a group to join - SF Bay Area Navy Moms. We have a meet and greet in Fremont this Sunday and one on San jose on April 10. We have a lot in common.
Hoppi, Thanks for the information and website on the Clothing Allowance.
When my son went through basic he went through the exact same thing... even went to talk to the chief to see if he could get out... LOL Write him letters telling him how proud you are of him.. do not feed into those depressed letters.. tell him about all the stuff you will do when you see each other etc etc really pump him up that is what he needs right now.. I know its tough on you to hear it.. but you need to be strong for him.. remind him he's doing it for the future you two will have together etc... Once he got to A school it got better since there is more freedom as they advance in school.
