We will still do some other small groups this month.

1.    45 soldiers in Haiti.  Matt's mom and I did them.

2.    10 soldiers in the sanbox.  The contact is from Tucson.

3.     Marines from Molly's group.  Lyn was handling the count and knew in order for them all to get      a pc more help was needed.  196 total from HAE crew,  115 after Lyn asked for help.

4.     Dawn in Afghanistan has a new address and location. Need 200.

I am working with a couple of Tucson units.  I'll keep you posted on those possibilities.

There was a group of 45 soldiers posted in the address area of Molly's group. I mailed 45 Haiti specific cards first to see if they arrived. They did and the unit was so excited to have that little bit.
So Matt's mom and I just mailed 45 pcs between us. I also made a bib for the contacts baby daughter and send more cards. Cathy sent a bunch of snacks as well.

Here are my 30 pcs:

Wow, a lot of nice pillowcases. I love the bib.
thanks. those are a family speciality of mine. that is the small size that I made up for my niece. they are usually bigger than that.

the family loves them because of the long ties.
I have a fairly large number of pillowcases for females.
me too. Dori found a unit with lots of females-88 or something like that. Let's get the Seabees finished and by that time we should know about the Ft Hood units. If not enough females, we can get that other group.
The Seabees will go out on Monday. I just need to pick up some goodies to fill up the rest of the box first. I'll mailing the Ft Hood pillowcases at the same time.
okay
I mailed this box to a Tucson soldier today. I also included 10 lip balms. I made the Army pillowcase and had to add the Navy mom love label. I still have a few left Barbara, I use them sparingly. I did draw hearts after I took the picture.

There is a newspaper article in front of the pc. The soldier is the one to right.

I mailed these 3 to Yankee's mom on Monday. The 2 Auburn ones are for her son. She sent me the fabric. The snowflake one and sign is for her display at the gun show this weekend that is supporting HAE. Thank you!

those are all very nice, Sue. Like the sign too! should show well.
I had that printed at Walgreens. It cost $1.59 and was worth every cent. So it's really a photo that I put in an old DVD box. When I used it at a fundraiser, I added a little note that told the count and stuck it in on the lower right hand side.
You are clever, Sue! I would never have thought to put a photo in an old DVD box. It would be a great way to cycle photos ... easy to change. Your pillowcases are great, too. I like the circle/snow flaky one next to the Auburn pillowcases.
Ladies: The pillowcases were a hit at our VFW Gun Show...talked to alot of military people there over the weekend. One Dad I talked to for quite a while was very impressed with what we are doing. When we get the tally done on the Concession sales, I will let you know Sue!!! I think we did rather good!!
Got news from the Sailor Son that he is up for a promotion....hope to hear soon!!! By reading alot of the posts, I think I'm the "oldest Navy Mom" on here....Not my age, the length of service that my son has in...will be 10 years in August!!! Everyone have a Great Monday!!!
