Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Melanie - I recieved his box today... I got home from work and started mowing the lawn.. I seen the delivery man stop in front of the house. I stopped the mower got down on my knees and held the box and cried.. I couldnt help but think if anything ever happens to him, this is how he would come home to me... I brought the box in and opened it and held him close. GOSH I miss his big blue eyes and his laughter... I have not recieved the form letter yet. I am hoping that comes tomorrow.. I looked at the graduation dates on line.. And Dustin is DIV 223 and the cut off for the June 18th graduation is 222... I was so hoping for the 18th.. From some of the things I have been reading it sounds like the first 2 divisons of the PIR are the Grads and Go. Which means I will get an hour and half with him after PIR... As he will be the first Divison in the next graduation..I am hoping when I get the form letter he was changed to Divison 222 so I can at least spend the weekend with him. Whatever the case may be I will deal with it. At least at A school I will be able to talk to him..

What link did you get PIR information. Just getting his address and knowing his PRI date was wounderful!! It's the waiting and unknown that is hard. Can't wait to see him. ..Miss him so much.

My daughter, Cozey, went on the same day! The hardest part is not knowing how they're doing. Miss checking in with her several times a day. Living for the graduation!

Hi CozeyaMom.... You are so right the unknown of what is happening in their lives is what hurts the most. When we are use to seeing them everyday and being able to talk about what is happening in their life.. I can't wait until next Sunday when he can start getting our letters from home.. I hope our letters wrap around him like his favorite blanket and lift him to higher ground... PIR can not get her soon enough... Why is it time flies by so fast when your going about life and your children are around, but they min they leave for boot camp, every second feels like an hour and every hour feels lilke a day and every day feels like a week????

Hi my son left 5/4/10 for GL, when I read your post, I thought I wrote it!!! I feel exactly the same way. Just when you think the tears have stopped they start again!! Counting the days til July!! I am so proud of him !!

Hello, My son left on April 20. He was in the DEP for about 3 mos. I do cry often and miss him very much. But, I do realize it's all good for him. Good luck to you Sailor.

Hi Ladies I am on week 7 my son's PIR is on May 7. It has been a very long 7 weeks. It is ok to cry . They are our babies ! I found that writing him and praying helped me allot . I called his recruiter and he had the address the following Monday after my son shipped. I know exactly how you feel ! Good luck to your Recruit !!

I highly recommend calling the recruiter and asking for ship and div info. My daughter left for GL on 4/20 and is graduating 6/11/10. Her recruiter had all of the info within a few days of her departure for boot camp. When I received the form letter, it just confirmed what I already had been told.

Hi 4senuff, I know you're apprehensive at this point, but she might have an earlier date than you expect. I went to boot camp August 2009 and our division graduated in about 7 weeks. It just depends on how things go down when she gets there. For example, she may be one of the last recruits added to a division or one of the first to arrive for a division. She's in processing right for about 4-5 more days and then the training begins. You should be able to get a hold of her recruiter by tomorrow or Monday and get an address. Write as much as possible! Everyday if you can, it's like Christmas during mail call! She will call in a few weeks to let you know how it's going. Be proud and don't worry about her! They take good care of recruits, we ate three times a day got 8 hours of sleep time minus 2 if you're scheduled for watch and minus 30 minutes for any ironing. She can also get some meds pretty quick if she's not feeling well. Anyway, you can message me or comment on my page if you have any questions.

My son will be leaving June 1st. Just found out today. It was so-pose to be June 16th. But they want him in the White Sox game ceremony. So I lost 15 days with him. I know I want him to grow up, he has been in college this year, but still living at home. I am really going to miss him.

That sounds pretty cool, to be part of the White Sox division and go through the ceremony at the game. That's worth 15 days.
