If she arrives at GL tomorrow, what are the chances of graduation being delayed because of the 4th of July?  9 weeks would be July 2nd.  I've gotten so much conflicting information about how long boot camp is, some say 8 weeks, others say 9......

Yeah, I think it is also. My son is worried that his sister won't have her baby before he leaves. She is due May 22nd and he is going to be the Godfather and wants to be there for the baptism. We hope to be able to send pictures. Do we send stationary so they can write up and what kind?
They will get stationary at boot camp, it has an RTC logo.

When you send your son to boot camp, he won't get to keep much. He will get to keep his wallet, so in it would should put a book of stamps, a calling card (make sure it's activated and he knows how to use it) and a list of phone numbers and addresses.

It's also helpful to fold up a self-addressed, stamped envelope in every third or fourth letter. In it you can put a piece of blank paper, or a questionnaire, asking him yes/no or short-answer questions. They don't have a lot of time to write, and for those sailors who aren't "inspired" to write much, it's better to get a completed questionnaire than nothing.

He won't get any mail or be allowed to write for the first few weeks, but after that they get mail every day and send mail on Sundays. Do write as soon as you have his address, they will hold his mail and he'll get it all at once. Put dates on them, and add a *few* photos of pets or loved ones. Don't send too many, they don't have a lot of storage.
Thank you so much for the information. Everyone on here is so nice, I just shaved my sons hair off today so he has time to get used to it. It was quiet long. He feels better it's off now.
Hi, My son arrived in GL April 27. Got his papers today with address and his graduation date is June 18. I was so exceited. He sent a little comment. He said Boot Camp is not a Joke.
For now, two weeks into BC, my recruits PIR is still scheduled for 8 weeks after he arrived. Sometimes they are delayed. We received the stuff in a box three days after he left here, and the form letter with his PIR date within a week of his arrival at GL.
My son will also start tomorrow. I'd love to know this answer, too. Stay in touch and let me know what you find out. Where is your daughter going to school?
Hi, My son got to Gl. got form LTR. today.Ship 9 DIV. 222, PIR 6/18. His comment: Mom,THE NAVY IS AWESOME! Its only been one wk. But, everything is just like I thought it would be. PS .Tell chief Joe, I like it! What a awesome experience are kids are getting and there getting paid!! Wow!! Go NAVY!!
Hi JOHNSmom: That is so wonderul... What a relief to get a litle peep from him and it was positive.. How Awesome is that!!! I bet your heart is smiling... I am so happy for your sailor and you... : )
Hi, Johnsmom My son is also Ship 9-Division 222
Hi, my son left yesterday and arrived at GL some time early this morning. His recruiter told me to expect a package in about 2 weeks w/graduation date.
Hi Kimberly: The box should come in a week same with his form letter that has his address and graduation date. My son left on a Monday and I called his recruiter on Thursday and he had his address for me. We are all here for you, if you need us.. Lots of emotions run through and when no one in the outside world understands you will find it here.. Good luck to you and your son... Anna
my daughter arrived today at GL and I am very proud and so sad, I believe its 8 weeks boot camp. They send a letter that will give you all the information and you will receive it about a week after they get there.
