OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

It is against the rules, however, they won't stop you. A captain would be at sea.
There is a discussion of marrying on the GF and wives group.

Additionally, you would need to meet the legal requirements in IL, which would require him to go to the court house with you to obtain one, which he will not be allowed to do.
My only question is a simple one that you can ask yourself, if you are both in love why can't getting married wait a little longer.

Well, we both want to be married before they give him his orders so that we won't be stuck paying for the WHOLE move ourselves. I live in Michigan and just imagine what the cost would be if he were to be in California or over seas.
And because we wanted to be married before but didn't want to mess up when he would be shipping out so we thought maybe this small weekend would be perfect. Both of our families and close friends are coming to the area so....that was my thought process.

If PCS orders are a concern, then most of the time I'd say during A school for marrying. Of course, that depends on the length of the A school. So as Hoppi asked, which A school?
Nice to have family there, may not be the most practical choice.
If he gets overseas orders and is not an E-4, you aren't authorized to go anyway. This includes Hawaii. He will fill out a dream sheet for orders while in A school, he should keep this in mind when he makes his choices. Doesn't mean he'll get them, but better to ask for somewhere the dependent can follow.
You can possibly swing it PIR weekend, but there's a decent chance it can't be pulled off. You have to get the license 24 hours before the wedding. Google the courthouse info for Glakes, it is all online.
And yeah, it is against the rules. Don't be surprised if he wants to do it the correct way.

He is going to Pensacola for A school.
I've read about the courthouse in Chicago and everything. I would be bringing a minister with me. If he does decide to do it. So we would only need to be together on Friday and get the license and then do it on Saturday.

Okay, I'm not trying to be a downer ere, but one other thing you'll have to consider: if he is a grad and go, he might be flying out to P-Cola on Friday or Saturday. He'll know near the end of BC. There may be a quick trip to Florida in your future.

I understand. Sometimes I need people to pull me back down to the ground.
If that's the case then we will deal with it when we figure it out.
Even if we are not getting married, I really hope he isn't a grad and go. That would be so sad.

It would be better (and easier!) to get married in Pensacola. Plan for a long weekend, he can get a weekend chit so he can stay at the Navy Lodge with you, and that way you can have a romantic beach wedding and a Florida beachside honeymoon... on the cheap.
You can also get married in the base chapel with a chaplain officiating.
I'm sure there will be some beaches that won't get hit by the oil.
