--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"

 --- Who serve on "boats,"

--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Hi, Mom of Drew! Another CHEYENNE mom is Gloria P., whom you can find quickly by typing her name in the 'Search' box at the top of the page. Welcome aboard! k.
Thank You Kaye S. I look forward sharing with all of the navy moms..
Jill M.
My son Mike is a "FMMM3" aboard the USS Nebraska in Bangor WA.
Hi Mikie! my son is on the Nebraska, as well, Gold crew. He just made Lt.JG, but I'm not really sure what his job is (something to do with the nuclear reactor). All I know for sure is that he's gaining a rep as the cribbage player to beat. LOL We are so proud of him - it's something only other sub moms can understand, I think!
My son Jason is a Missile Tech on the USS Kentuckey, Gold Crew.
My son, Andrew will be leaving for San Diego this week ~ he's been assigned to the USS Asheville. Nuke EM3. More to learn ~ any others with sailors on board please introduce yourself :-)
My son is also a Nuke EM3 recently assigned to San Diego, but his boat is the USS San Francisco.
Hi Lin, My son is fresh out of Prototype, too! He reports tomorrow to the USS Pasadena in Hawaii. Guess I have a lot to learn about subs. Been concentrating on Nuke school for 2 years!!
My son is on the Greeneville in the Pacific. I believe he is an ELT. He just sent me the most wonderful knit blanket wall hanging representing his sub. I love it. Will have to find appropriate wall hanger for it. Sure do miss him even if he is older than those who join right after high school. He was trying to put himself through college. After 5 years he had one term left and the money he had saved for his last term for his BA in teaching was stolen. He made me proud that even in such a crisis he sought guidance and counsel from former teachers, family, friends in military and friends discharged from military, and considered all before making his decision to join the Navy. He has done well and like all of you I am very proud of him. Blessings,
Hello all, My son is due to leave Ballston spa and report to the Rhode Island. He doesn't know exactly when. Is this normal or just my son? Or just for safety. There are so many discussion groups, that I get a bit lost. I saw something about contacting an ombudsman, but now can't find it. I need to to learn parent- sub 'manners'. He is an EM3, at least that was the last info.
I saw the discussion you are talking about but can't remember what group it was in either! There is a group called "What's an Ombudsman and how to contact them". Do a search from your home page for that title or just Ombudsman and it will show you a list of discussions or group that have had conversations with the word Ombudsman in it. That is how I found the group.

You can also go to discussions and search also. Good Luck!

My son did not give my name to his ombudsman until the day he left for deployment. I had been asking him to do so for 6 months and he insisted I did not need to be on the list. Since he left I found out that because she did not have my name, he received a generic half way box instead of something I could have sent to him. But, the sailor always knows better! LOL!!!
Hello Elisa T, go to your internet and type in your son's ships name ombudsman and I think that will get you what you want. There is a website I have seen on here for a list of ombudsmans but I don't remember it. How it works for you. if not, try the Navy for Moms Admins at the bottom of the page and they can probably help you.
Blessings,
