Hello everyone..my son is ship 13 div 326. Got the box in 6 days but the letter took 14 days. This has been without a doubt the hardest thing Ive ever had to do in my life. He is my only child and daily life without him is very difficult. I know you ladies can relate.
Hang in there, this seems to get a wee bit easier as time passes. Especially knowing that the correspondence will soon begin and that this week (fingers crossed) we will get a call. I have had my ups and downs these last few weeks, but this support group, knowing I'm not alone keeps me sane. Take care, Bonnie
My son is ship 13 div 325 & Louann, I also got the box & letter about the same time. My son is also my only & I can definitely relate. Not that I saw him too much before he left anyway, he was working full time & then spent time with his buddies. So I was used to him not being home, but I find myself worrying & thinking about him more because I can't just pick up the phone & talk to him anytime. I am so glad for all you navy moms. Hopefully I will get a letter tomorrow. I heard they get to write on Sunday & some moms have been getting letters on Wed. It helps that I know this is what he wants & he's very determined. I know this is good for him.
Feeling kinda down this morning, missing my boy. this is the longest we EVER went without speaking. Im trying to stay busy at work and home with the 4 yr old, but Im still missing my oldest. Tryn to stay postitive keeping in mind he's growing up and doing something GREAT with his life, training for lifelong experience. Im so PROUD, yet sad this morning:(
Run to the Mailboxes! I got letters today. Boys sound great. Im ecstatic!
That news bought a smile to my face!!! Hopefully I will get one this evening:)
No letter:(
Hopefully tomarrow:)
Oh, bonnie, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Happy for you. I hope something comes for me today, too. My mail doesn't get here until late in the afternoon. I start checking around 3:30 and don't stop until there is mail in the box. If you haven't gotten a phone call, that is the next thing on the list and should come this weekend. If I could just see his handwriting I think I could go for a few more days. Did they say anything about their wisdom teeth? I think this is the week for that to be done.
No mail today. Was so hoping there would be. As Scarlett would say "Tomorrow is another day", and the always "No news is good news" mantra goes on. I bowl tonight so that will keep me busy for a few hours. My drive is about 30 minutes to and from and going there will be an adventure. There is construction on I-20 eastbound and I'll have to keep my wits about me. Will check in tomorrow. Bonnie, let us know what your boys had to say and if we need to be praying for anything they are struggling with.
Elaine, they both got to write short notes, they sounded excited and happy! The only comment about the teeth was that they were taking painkillers every three hours, but that was it, like it was no big deal. Nothing about pain, or having to be SIQ a day or anything. Sounds like they are on target, one mentioned a couple of trouble makers they are a little worried about that could delay them (which I am sure the rest of the div won't allow), but overall very good news. I can't wait till everyone gets theirs so you can feel the same relief I do. One said they were getting in the habit of making their beds every morning, AS IF they had a choice! Good Luck, and hopefully tomorrow you will get something. Oh, and he said they only write Sundays.
Okay, so maybe tomorrow a letter. I feel good things in the air. I bowl on a league where if you hit nine pins on your first ball, it counts as a strike. It is just a fun league for the summer and tonight I bowled 232, 218 and 277. I haven't bowled that good in at least 4 weeks. The week before he left, and the two weeks after. We get our money next week and it looks like I will get some extra for what I bowled tonight. We needed to win all our games, which we did and will probably win a team award as well. My bowling this good is a good omen!!! About the bed making. My son had never made a bed in his life. Bottom sheet and bedspread was all he ever used. I bet it took a while for him to get the hang of it. If he wrote on Sunday I bet there will be mail tomorrow. I will pray for the troublmakers, maybe they haven't adjusted yet.
my boyfriend is in ship 13 div. 326. i called his recruiting station yesterday and had to get his mailing address from them. he shipped out aug. 9th from nj... i received his box two days later. his rents and my rents and i are a bit concerned still no letter though from him. should it be this week. i've mailed out the three laters i've written him so far last night and another one today. what should i do? no one wants to plan anything until we hear from him :(
