We haven't made definite plans yet. I've just got as far as checking airlines. My daughter is a senior in HS and that is her homecoming so she isn't coming with us. She is not a happy camper right now because she really wants to see her brother but she doesn't want to miss her last homecoming either. I pointed out that she would probably be getting to see him over Thanksgiving because he will be in SC in A school. From what I understand he will be able to get at least a little time off then so we can travel down there.
Leave it to the brother to mess things up!!! LOL... My son will be going to A school also....Mississippi..he will probably go to his sisters for Thanksgiving if he has the time off..She isn't too far away in Louisiana. I don't think he's planning coming this way until after A school when he gets a break. January maybe? I don't know anything for sure yet..Congrats to your daughter being a senior...does she have plans after school?
She is plannning on majoring in music performance and education. She plays cello. She couldn't be more different from Jason (my son) if she tried but they are as thick as thieves. She really misses him.
aaahhhh, beautiful instrument. Love it!! My boys got into the guitars. Oldest, Ryan plays the bass guitar and Kevin plays acoustic. All electric with all the fancy pedals and amps. Jonathan, the one in the Navy, never picked it up but now the youngest boy, Kristian is starting. He needs new strings, again. LOL...
OK, ladies, Andrews Dad Eric got a letter yesterday....be on the lookout....(as if we weren't). Eric says Andrew is doing great!!
I got my first letter yesterday too! I sat and read it about a hundred times. Jason sounds like he's doing well. He said he NEVER wants to have to go to Medical again after getting all those shots (lol)
that is terrific...!!!!!!!!! Let you know if I get one today....
nope, no letter today either......sigh...
I'll bet you get one tomorrow. It sounded like EVERYONE wrote letters last Sunday. Orders from Chief Rice. lol Jason's was dated 9/19.
Hi Everyone,
Letter!!! Yes!! Hope everyone gets one too real soon! Patty
I received three letters yesterday in one envelope. His best friend and his girlfriend received letters as well. He sounded much more positive than I expected, but was a little upset that more of his friends haven't written to him. I just made my hotel, plane and rental reservations, but I saw somewhere on the Navy website that they strongly suggest to take the shuttle from your hotel to avoid the long car line. Anyone ever experience this before? This is my first and only time. I watched the Battlestations 21 video on You Tube. Wow! What a test that will be!
I wondered about the shuttle as well. My question is this. After PIR when you meet your sailor for liberty, are they allowed to come back to the hotel on the shuttle or do you have to go to the hotel, get the rental car and then go back to base?
