Hi All, My son Brian is on this ship & Div!! Just booked my trip for Chicago..I did not get any phone calls :( does he need a phone card? We are from Queens NY
Hi Donna, my son, Ben, is as on this ship and division. I sent my son with a phone card when he left (thanks to suggestions from this site), and I'm thinking I might have to send him another one down the road. I've only received one call so far and 3 letters at one time in one envelope. It sounds like major confusion at graduation, but also sounds like the Navy knows what they're doing since they do it every weekend. I'm from Baltimore and I'm flying in my daughter from San Diego, where she just recently moved. Can't wait! Cheryl
Hi Cherylt - We're flying from Waldorf, Maryland. Hi neighbor : )

We haven't booked yet. Planning to do that during the next week. We've decided to fly into Milwaukee because flight prices are better and it's only 20 miles farther to drive. Don't have a hotel yet. I'm going to book that today. Where are you staying or have you gotten any good recommendations?
He needs a phone card. You can send him one by mail. Be sure to activate it before sending it. This takes time that he won't want to waste when he can call you.
Hi all...my son is in the same ship and Div. I got a call on 9/11 but no lettes yet..he might have written his mom...I'm not sure. I'm glad that it sounds like they are doing well as a group. I made my plans to fly out with rental car and all...so I'm keeping fingers crossed that nothing happens to push his PIR date back. My son is gonna be in the Nuke program down in Charleston, SC...anybody else have a son or daughter who is going there too? I'm wondering if the Navy puts all the Nukes together in one group so they all go to SC at the same time.
That's interesting. My son's going into the nuke program in Charleston also. I wonder if that's what div 354 is. That would be great if they all graduated on time and went to A school together.
My son is going to SC for nuke program as well. I wonder if they have put the nukes in one group. That will be great for them if they already know someone when they get down there.
That would be really great...they'll be a tight group after spending a few years together in all their training, etc. Some of the other groups have been getting phone calls but I haven't heard from Sean since 9/11. He might have contacted his mom but I'm not sure. It's good to come on here and hear how some of the others are doing and get some 2nd hand information that way.
Just got a call from my son! He said they're not doing PT as much as he would like to in order to increase his running time. He said his division has become very close and they motivate each other. His attitude was good.
GOT A PHONE CALL!!!!!!! Wow we got to talk for over 20 minutes!!! It was awesome... a bit homesick.. can't wait to see him...
I'm so happy for you, too!
I don't know why but my post got cut off...
He mentioned that they didn't score high enough on something so their new RDC was giving them IT tonight. (Intense Training) He said it will be very tough...sorta dreading it I think. Says he has made a lot of new friends. Said there are 85 in the div. 5 didn't pass something last night but all 5 passed it this am...also commented that the div. isn't working as a team yet...ugh. Is that why they brought in a new RDC.? Overall it sounded like things are really tough but he is getting through. Says he misses us more than he thought he would. He was thrilled when I told we would be there for PIR even though he'd told us not to bother before he left. AND he mailed us a letter....woo hoo!!! should get it thurs...
