You will all notice that I didn't include a pattern for the cuffs for the stockings. They are just rectangles and the size depends on the weight of the fabric. If you are using thin fabric or are going to embroider on the cuff, then cut the cuffs 8 or 10 inches wide by about 11" long. Then fold it in half length wise.

If you are using a heavy or stiff fabric, then cut the cuff 4 or 5 inches wide by 11" long and don't fold it in half. Just finish the bottom edge of the cuff.

Sewing instructions.

LLove, do we have a group for whom we are going to make stockings like we did last year. I plan to make some for personal use but could easily make some more. Thanks for posting this.
I am going to send mine to the Seabees that are taking care of the wounded Marines. I'm also sending them the scarfs as Christmas gifts.
Sounds good to me. What are the target numbers? I can't do the neat Seabee that you do but I may create something neat.
Actually, I'm not planning on doing the Seabees like last time. I'm just going to do some Knomes and other Holiday patterns, because I don't know if they will go to the Seabees or to the Marines.

I have no target number. Whatever we do, we send along with some scarfs to cheer them up during the Holidays. Hopefully we can get someone to buy some candy canes to go with the stockings. This is not an official adoption, Just my small ongoing project. These Seabees will be in Afghanistan until Feb..taking care of our wounded Marines.
I have a bunch of Christmas fleece that someone donated. I wonder if that would work.
I would think it would be great.
do I have to do a separate cuff? or could I just turn under and hem? maybe put some small nub/nap fake fur on it?

I can't do that whole stocking thing this year. I just don't have time. But I do have someone who might sew them if I can make them easy enough. and with fleece there is no finishing of seams although we didn't finish last year's either.
Sue, The stockings do have a separate cuff.
The instructions for the cuffs are up on top of this page. The cuffs are just rectangles. I don't finish any seams because these just don't need to be that fancy. I think the Christmas fleece would be great. The whole idea was to use up fabric that we had hanging around.
The fake fur sounds cute but I would think the stockings are too small for that fabric. White fleece might work though for a cuff.
I never expected you to make any for this project. You have way too much to do already.
you're right, I do. HOWEVER, I have all this Christmas fleece and a friend with too much time on her hands. haha. easy for me to say.

I'll approach her about it. She made a bunch last year. But I need to make one for an example.
Lyn, the pattern arrived today. Many thanks.
Sue, Do you need a pattern or do you still have the one from last year?
would love the pattern. thanks that would help alot. I am sure that she will make them, but I have to do the mock up.
