For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Wow! Thanks for all the info. I haven't heard from my son about BS21 yet. I am a firm believer also of "no news is good news." If I hear anything, I'll put it out there also.

Just touching base to let y'all know that I got a letter today from Josh... It is on rally kew Navy stationary, with a full color Navy emblem in the upper left corner and "NAVAL TRAINING CENTER ~ Great Lakes, Illnois" printed at the top right.
He says he loves us and misses us 'so very much', and that he just can't believe how fast the time is flyin by. Also that their time is scheduled to keep them busy 16-to-18 hours per day. He also talks about what he thinks he wants to do with his car (which is at my house), and is leaning toward selling it. He also added a PS, that we should PLEASE send him some family pics.
However, he said nothing about battlestations... -

Thanks SasafrasWilds - I didn't get a letter today (hoping for tomorrow) and no phone call this week. I haven't been worried more like "I can't stand not knowing!!!!!" lol Guess I'm a little of a control freak....

Finally got a letter today! It was a short letter but a letter none the less. He sounds really, really good. So I am relieved. Did not mention anything about BS21. Just glad to know he is alive and well. And starting to get excited about PIR in 2 weeks! Just 2 weeks.

A couple of us got letters today too. We posted on the main 10/29 site so make sure you check. Isn't it great to know it is going so much better for them? phew...it's been a rough road. But mine sounds really happy and excited.

I'm away,so can't check my mail,but my daughter got a letter today also. Said the same thing - the Division is doing good and everything is on track. She said he was very positive and used a lot of exclamation points!!!

I know it is horrible to not hear anything and wonder. But the GF got a letter...That is great and he sounded good ....that is awesome!! I think they are all going to make it. Everything is sounding positive and exciting... {hug}

Found this interesting information from other older groups about Ship 12, USS Triton:
"Just a bit of trivia/history ...USS Triton (the ship most of our recruits are on) with Captain Ned Beach was the first to circumnavigate the earth while submurged the entire time. The 41,500 mile voyage took 83days.
I also found a passage in The Bluejacket's Manual that I found very interesting..."History can be the most boring thing in the world, but heritage is written in special ink that is a blend of the blood of sacrifice, the sweat of hard work, and the tears of pride that you are bound to feel when you realize the importance of what you are doing. Learn your heritage, be proud of it, and work hard to carry it on."
