Just got our letter today so not sure how many out there have the same information.  7 days in and he says it sucks !!!  probably so !!  we'll start writing to him,  encourage him to keep going and remember that you go through Basic Training, you don't stay there.   Better things await those who persevere !

God Bless all the recruits

My son will be going to charleston also. He is in the nuclear division.
As is my daughter. It would be nice to know in advance if they are going to nuke school on the 13th or the 20th!
K-thanks for the updates, appreciate it. Is battlestations only one day? I have no clue, so am learning as I go.
Dianna says we are to light blue candles for Battlestations. A tradition? Certainly can't hurt to pray for them individually and as a group.
We got a call 10/16/2010 he said he is still loveing the navy.
got a call too...said they and their bother div (365 ) earned them for doing so well on testing...and something w/a flag...idk...someone posted bst 21 as nov 4th...my recruit didnt know when it was when i asked...but he also dosent get to spend alot of time w/the div bc of ship staff...he did say they have more test this week and a zone ispection...when the check all their folding and stuff...sounds like fun...see you all in 25 days

My son is ship 11 Div 367. We've gotten 3 letters so far and one phone call. For some reason we still haven't gotten the form letter yet though. Our first 2 letters came in on Friday 10/8, and the 3rd came this past Wednesday. It was great to hear from him - just as we suspected 1st letter - Mom/Dad This was not one of my better ideas. Letter 2 - still hating it. Letter 3 - things are starting to look up, his phone call - he sounded even better. Should we wait until we get the form letter with his PIR date to make reservations? Has anyone else not received their form letter yet?? Anyone else from MA or with a son in Div 367 out there?
Judy - There is another group with your specific DIV 367. Not that we don't want you but they might have some information for you. Your son should be able to tell you about PIR date and whether it's still on schedule and yes, go ahead and get your travel plans made because if PIR date changes you can always move hotel reservations but not sure on flights, if you need them. Do you have your son's address? Hopefully so. Your letters from him are so typical, I figure if he didn't hate it at some point the officers wouldn't be doing their jobs !! :) Our form letter and box came within 1 week of getting to GL but everyone had different results.
Thanks for the picture.
H A H A !! I accidently signed myself out of this group last week by mistake. Was wondering why I wasn't getting conversation updates. Gotta love it ♥ and now I get to play catch up !
Okay we got a letter today, anyone else? He says things are going well, almost all the div. passed the performance readiness test (PRT) and they smoked the weapons turnover inspection (WTI) , thats why they got a phone call last Sat. and they smoked the Personal Inspection too. They are having their drill inspections tomorrow and they want to pass that. He also thought that pictures were this week. Anyway, not one of the longer letters but good to know what is going on.
I got four letters today at the same time. It does sound like the Division is doing better together. I am still confused about them moving to another barracks after graduation and she doesn't think she will be able to see us the whole weekend. Don't they get some liberty after graduation even if they have to move? I figured they would have to earn it. Does anyone know from those that have graduated in the past. My daughter is staying in Great Lakes for her school. I don't know if that makes a difference.
What is her rate? My hubby is also staying at GL for his A school...he is AECF. I was hoping he would be grad & go...right after PIR check in across the street for A school...then overnight ;) weekend liberty. However the A school for his rate is full so he will be in holding at RTC. They will be moving over to Ship 5 right? After that they should get some liberty. I hope so anyway I'm staying until Monday just-in-case!
