Call the recruiter on Monday and ask him/her for the address. You can write letters but with out the correct address it will take even longer to get there.

Breath mom....she is ok! The weather is a little chilly up here, but she will be/is being issued everything she needs to stay warm.

She is being fed, but it is nothing like home cooking.
She is getting sleep, even though it might not be as much as she "thinks" she needs.
She is getting clothing to stay warm, might not be the fashion kind she is used to but it is warm.
She is getting medical treatment, though she might not like all the shots she is getting.
She is keeping busy every day, though it isn't on her schedule.
If she goes to church, she will be allowed to go to church on Sunday.
She is thinking about you.

Stay postive during this time. Start the letters, number them, get ready to send them as soon as you get the address. Recommend if have more than one letter, you send one each day not all of them the same day. So maybe she will get them at different time.
Thank you so much !!!! I am so very proud of her and so excited for her. of course I never ever expected to feel this way !!!! LOL
You should get her box in a week or two via FedEx, her form letter about the same time...via USPS, it will have her addy, ship/div, grad date and info and the password for the gate pass also a few handwritten lines from her.

Go to your page and scroll down to read messages left for you. I had left one back in March but have left another one with links and other info.

Did she have an activated calling card? If not, send her one. She'll need it to call home. She should get a call around week 3 or 4...look for the 847 area code and id is usually payphone.

Like Angie said..she is being well taken care of.

You can call the recruiter to get her temporary address, it may be slightly different from the one in the form letter. She won't get to receive or send out any mail for about 2 weeks. But, write every day then when she does get mail she'll get a TON.

When you get the form letter...join the PIR group (Pass In Review= graduation) it will be your lifeline for info and support.

Just hang in there...it'll get better. Just remember to breathe. She's in good hands. Your mantra will be "No news is good news".

If you need anything ..just message me.

Also, join this group http://www.navyformoms.com/group/leavinforbootcampinoctober here you'll connect with other N4M's whose rcts left when yours did.
Thank you and again I kinda feel very silly for feeling the way I feel ! Cuz I know she is ok !
Don't feel silly, you're feeling what many moms do.
Does anyone know if the kids get to call more than one time? Were we suppost to send them a calling card or will they get to call every once in a while? Just trying to figure all of this out. Thanks for any information I can get.
My son left on Oct 28. We got a call from him at 1:00am and he told us he was there and only had a minute to talk. He took his cell phone, but of course it is comming home with his box of stuff. He said he would get to call in three weeks. Thats when we will recieve the box and the address to mail letters. I miss my son so much, and I am very proud of him. Cant wait to hear from him again, I am marking the calender!!
I am counting down the days to hear from Mariah ! I understand how you feel. She had called her dad and stepmom when she arrived at bootcamp to let them know she arrived safely, and that is all we have heard. I haven;t had the chance to talk to her yet and cannot stop thinking bout her! Just want to hear all about it!!!!
They did receive her box of clothes she wore to Great Lakes yesterday however....
They generally get to make 3 or 4 phone calls. The first one is the "Hi Mom, I'm here" which is so short as to be barely worth it. Then they often get a call about week 3, and there's definitely a call after Battlestations to tell you they made it and "Hi Mom, I'm a sailor!" (that's the best one). In between, they may be rewarded with an extra call or two, depending on how their division is doing. Because they have to work as a team, they are rewarded as a team. If the division is doing well they all may get a call. If it's not doing well, they won't. If she's doing exceptionally well as an individual, she may get a call. It all depends on the RTC and how tough they decide to be on the recruits. Notice the number of times I said "MAY".....nothing is for sure.
Ok thank you. This away I won't be sitting around and wondering, you know he did put in his letter that his division was not coming together like they should.
They always tell them they aren't doing as well as they could for the first few weeks.
Oh ok!!!
