My son got there on November 1st - do you have a division # yet?
Our son leaves on Nov. 15, 2010 for bc then to A school in Meridan, ms. His twin sister is planning on going in in the spring of 2011
My DEPper leaves Nov 9th, 2010...3 days from now
Hey all...I'm sure I'm not the first and positive I won't be the last, but my son got to Chicago Thursday nite and we got "the" phone call around 11:30 central time. Both his wife and I were sleeping and she heard him say his "box" was coming home in three weeks and I heard him say he wouldn't be able to call for three weeks. We know there will be a package coming with all his information about how to write him but I am concerned I won't have a letter or card to him when he can first receive mail. Is there any way we can find out what division he is in and where to send mail so we can be sure to have something for him? I am totally wiggin' because he wasn't supposed to leave for boot camp until January but was able to get in for the November 5th group. We just found that out two and a half weeks ago so things have been quite crazy since we got the call from his recruiter. I would just die a thousand deaths if he didn't get anything from his family when the first mail call comes in. I need HELP!! I am still learning my way around this site so I would be happy to give my email address if that's allowed on this site and/or my Facebook name. Geeze, I'm about to give out my phone number to anyone who can give me information on how this whole thing works. :) Also, I would LOVE to join the group of moms/girlfriends/wives of anyone who's loved one is in the same group as my son if I could just figure out which one that is!
kimberli you can call the recruiter 72 hours after he left..they should be able to get his temporary addy for you. Does he have an activated calling card?

When you get his form letter in a couple of weeks it'll have his addy, ship, dive, grad date and info and a fewlines from him. Once you get your PIR (Pass In Review=graduation) date...join the group. It may not have formed yet and YOU may get to form it. Fun and easy
My grandson is leaving for boot camp from NY on Nov. 9th. Very nervous, praying he does well. This site has so much info! Thanks to all.
My daughter is leaving Nov. 15. Her leave date wasn't supposed to be until Dec. 14. We thought we had plenty of time for goodbyes and to "wrap" things up. We are instead rushing to do everything! Not to mention the emotions that are flying around our house right now! I'm not ready for her to leave and at the same time am so proud of her to have made such a big decision on her own!!
My son will go to MEPS on Sunday, the 14th, 2010. He will leave for Illinois on the 15th. After boot camp, he will remain in Illinois for his A school.
my son leaves also for MEPS on Sunday and remain in Illinois for his A school. Where is your son leaving from? I am taking my son to Ft. Meade.
We are in the Cleveland Area. So is your son in for Engineman?
No he is doing gunners mate.....his dream is to make the SWCC Team. He tried out this summer and was slow in swimming the 500 yards under 13 mins, but the running, pushups and situps he passed with flying colors. His recruiter said he can try out again at GL.
Wow, that is very impressive. I hope he makes it. Maybe they will share the same PIR date. It would be so awesome to meet some of the moms face to face. Where is Ft Meade?
