Hello all.  I am getting a little nervous with each passing day and looking for some friendly advice.

My husband is scheduled to go to bootcamp the first of next year (Jan 2011)  He has lost a lot of weight and is trying to get into shape for bootcamp, the only thing that seems to hold him back is the pushups.

The recruiter has told us that if he is unable to do a certain number 45 days before bootcamp he will be in a special PT unit that does extra PT to get ready for the final PT test.  Have any of you had loved ones that have had to do this?  If so can you tell me what it is like?  I am nervous (but still hopeful) that he will not be able to do the required amount.  Any advice?

If for some reason they are unable to pass the pushups are they kicked out?  What exactly happens???

Thanks for the help!!!  Have a nice day!

My loved one had to do a certain number before he left. He said there was someone who couldn't do the amount and was kicked out.
they will work with him. Yes they have to be able to do so many before they leave. And once in Boot camp its going to be harder. There is no "you almost got it so we will pass you" He still has time. Dont stress over it.
My son got himself a personal trainer to work with him to get him up to boot camp standards. It may not be in your budget to do this (it wasn't in my son's but he did it anyway) and boy, did it ever pay off! By the time he got to boot camp he was in great shape and it made the PT part so much easier. Just a suggestion.
Is there a special PT Ship & Div. If so, wich one is it? I hope is not my son's Div.
Thanks for the information everyone. Yeah we knew that he had to rest test twice a year...but sort of figured it would get easier after he got in the swing of everything.

Thanks again.
Oops! Meant "Re-test!" Lol
