For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm not sure if you guys have already bought your sailors their Christmas gifts, but I posted this on another website, and this might be something you might want to get them as a stocking stuffer.... It's a CAC card reader (Smart Card). You might what to read about it, and see if this is something you might want to buy them...

Sailors' lives need to be small, to fit in the itty bitty spaces they have to store everything they own. So, downsize their lives.

Just FYI - Not all of the ships allow Rack Packs, and they take 6 to 8 weeks to process the orders. My procrastinating self found that out the hard way.

The rack pack company has a list of ships that have authorized rack packs posted on the site. They don't have a full list, ask your sailor if it is allowed on his/her ship.

Those are great ideas. Where do I find a rack pack? Also, where do I locate silk long underwear for my son? Thank very much.

For rack packs, go to www.navyrackpacks.com but be sure to check if your sailor's ship allows them

Thanks all for the great suggestions. I ordered the card reader. Didn't even know about that till the post. I never thought about an Itunes gift cert either. I'm going to get that now. Also getting a gift card from the NEX http://www.cardways.com/CP001/Cards/Home.asp

Great idea, Craig..never thought of that. On the rack pack, not every ship can have one and some that can have them say its a hassle because they have to be removed ev morning and this is more trouble then its worth. So, if you are thinking rack pack, which I was gonna do last year, make sure you ck w/your Sailors..one of mine could not have one...the other informed me of the policy on his ship that they have to be removed..so I was glad I checked.

Here is an article that was in this weeks Navy-Times. I guess this guy runs a help desk for
those having trouble with their CAC card readers. My nephew said it was so easy to connect
up, but what is easy for some, may be hard for others.
