My son is leaving today for MEPS and then on to BC tomorrow,. Will be a long tearfilled
day. I will keep all of the moms and new recruits in my prayers,. It is a hard time especially
during the holidays. Good Luck!
Mine Too... from New Orleans with 3 others. Got there last night.
My daughter leaving on the 14th of December.
Here is a blog I wrote back in March with tips on how to use this site. Good luck everyone.
We're in the same "boat" here. Daughter left for BC 14th. Chicago in the Winter. YIKES!
Just wanted to check in with all of you and see how you were doing today. Today is Day 3 for us. Called my daughter's recruiter today. They said they should have her address within a week. They told me to call back next week. They were all very nice and understanding. Asked me how we were doing. Yesterday was hard and today. I know she's in good hands. Once i can get her address and write to her, I'll feel better. I know it'll lift her spirits to hear from us as well. My husband went to bc back in 89. So i know what to expect. But with my child it feels different. We talk every day. I've gotta adjust i know and this is just the process we all have to go through.
How did ya'll get their ship and division address so soon?
His recruiter just called with his address, div and ship#. I now officially LOVE this man! My son just got to GL last night at 11pm! I am one of the lucky ones. Of course, I'll now have to wait for the next call. But I'm hoping my luck continues and I'll get a call on Christmas Day! Mine's in Div 083, Ship 03.
Renick thats so good!! My son left on the 14th, got my phone call about 10:35 pm...now just waiting from his recruiter with an address...and yes waiting and praying that I get a Xmas Day phone call. Miss him so much!!!
Yes! Just reading this. My son left on 12/14 as well. Havent heard anything yet. But from what I am reading it seems normal not to hear anything for a week or so? It's so hard not hearing from him. My husband is worried, but I am assuming no news is good news. Just trying to keep busy in the meantime. I miss him so much. He's 19.
Yes... no news is good news. Just keep saying that. My daughter left on the 14th, too. She's 25 years old. Her recruiter kept saying... no news is good news. Keep your chin up. We are trying to, also. And... it's interesting... my husband is nervous/worried, too.
