Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Tell her to get on the facebook site Navymoms and we will all talk to her, answer any questions and just listen. Let her know that when you are in the Mom's become like one big family also We are always here to support.

Navy for moms is wonderful. There are other moms who know what your going through. they helped a lot by just listening. It helps knowing that you are not the only one. My son just finished his first year in japan. Any time I was sad or missed him, there was a mom who understood. good luck, Susan,

Sit down with your mom in front of the computer. Help her set up her own N4M account. Take her on a tour. Show her how to use this site. She won't be alone for long. Show her that she is not alone and that others worry about their sons/daughters too. Also have her join the following groups. If she post a comment on the Arizona Moms Group, she might find someone near her and arrange to have lunch, coffee or ? I am in Northern CA. We have regular get togethers. 27 of us got together for dinner during Fleet Week in Oct. If she can connect with others, she will be fine. The last two links will help you/her navigate this site. Guppy, my son is 26, has been an officer for over 3 years, has a college degree in engineering, is super competent and professional. Guess what? I still worry. You should hear me sometimes. "Now don't drive anywhere you shouldn't", "It may be cold, be sure to take a coat.", "Do you have enough money?" "Are there any restaurants open, you are going to get hungry.", "There are a lot of crazy women out there. Don't get involved." and on and on. My son rolls his eyes, shakes his head and just laughs .......
PS. on my last comment, he said "Where?"

I worry about both of my kids. One in the Navy one lives at home. I still tell both to be careful when they go out. Think about what they are doing...not sure if that sinks in. Worried mostly about my sailor eating correctly, sleeping enough, getting the best training and working to be her best. Its our job, yes I know her job will put her in harms way, but I do know that the Navy has trained her for a long time to do her job, and she has others that supervise her that have tons more experience and knowledge than her, and really are concerned for her safety and well being. She tells me tons of stories about her bosses, and the kindness they show her when she is having a bad day at work. Not every time, but she has had some tough days and they listened to her, which is exactly what she needed that day. I think any mom will worry no matter what job you have, just a little more worry when you arent at home. Best of luck to you.
