anyone get any letters yet?

Yes, I got a letter today from my son and just when I was starting to feel better about the whole experiance!

He is questioning if this was the right descision for him. He says the yelling is getting quite anoying. He also had some medical issues come up that hopefully will be cleared up. He also is probably very homesick, this is his first time away from home.

It's hard to hear these things when you're already missing them so much.

Has anyone else received a letter like this from our division?

My son called last night, and of course, I wasn't home. Today is my birthday and I was really hoping he'd be able to try again, but I guess that's not going to happen.
The note I got on the form letter told us not to make plans specific plans for the PIR, as the date could change. Not really sure what that's about. I'm hoping he didn't get the flu that we all had a few days after he left. I really wish I could just talk to him.
Lisap~ My son also said something about being held for a week and being placed in a different division. I wonder what that means?? It would be so much easier if we could talk to them instead of playing catch up with the mail. It's like we're in some form of mom boot camp   :)
No letter from my SR today but we did just get 8 inches of snow yesterday.  It's quite a bit of snow for us Kansasn's :)
my SR snuck to call today, as much as I love him, I'm upset haha. Just waiting by the mailbox like usual..
We finally got a letter--very short--just that it is not to bad if you keep your mouth shut and that if there is bad news, not to tell him until after boot camp because he can't leave. So, I'm still up in the air about PIR...at least I heard from him.

My son's best friend is in this ship/division. My son graduated 01/14. I just wanted to let everyone know that Recruit Training Command has a great Facebook page and answer questions you may have promptly. It is under "U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command." I wish all your recruits good luck! I have had two sons go through this process, and it is so difficult as a mom to go through the ups and downs, but in the end, they are proud US Navy Sailors. Good luck to you all.

We got a nice letter from our SR.  He said he passed his first physical test last Friday, swimming.  Everything sounded pretty positive.

We received a real letter today!  It was longer than I thought it'd be and full of details. Sounds as though he's made some great friends, likes his bunkmates and hates the snow. I think our CA boy is never going to want to see snow again when this is over!  He is adjusting just fine and it does my Mom heart good to hear it!
I would like to never see snow again, too :)
lisap you're going to have to move, I think, for that to happen. We never see and never will see snow here. On very rare occations snow will dust the top of the hill (it's 1000ft.) but not down in the valley. It was a sunny crisp average of 65 here today....not to rub it in or anything!  :)
