Proudmama~You got your pkg already..lucky you!! I'm a bit confused now though. I'm being told this week does not count so that would make camp only 7weeks long if he grads on the 1st?? Hmmmm
I don't know. Why wouldn't this week count?  On his letter his PIR date is April 1 so that puts it at 7 weeks and 5 days! He got to BC on February 7. I'm not sure why.
Yea!  You give me hope that my son will graduate on the 1st!  My three girls are in a play the two weekends after the first and I have been so worried that we won't be able to go. (my husband and father-in-law would go without us)  Justin also went on the 7th and I am hoping to get the letter soon!

Mysailorson, that would work out perfectly then if that's the case!! I hope it is the 1st for your son then!!

Proudmomma~I got my son's info today & he is graduating on 4/1 :) he also wrote a brief note that he was doing good! He is Ship 11 Div 120

your right overtheedge.  if you count back from april 1st 8 weeks the day it lands on is before the 7th and we at least know that boot camp is 8 weeks long.  I'm pretty sure there is a non-counted processing week before the 8 week training cycle.  They should be finishing up all their paperwork and shots and paperwork and issued stuff and paperwork.

Right about now they should be meeting their permanent RDC's I think they call them in the navy.

I hope they are ready for the real start of boot camp :D  I think swim qual is up first.

asailorshusband~wouldn't that bring us to the 8th if this week don't count? I'm so confused!!

When I asked this question in the general discussion forum I got two answers.  They basically said it depends.  Sometimes they take a whole week to process, sometimes a few days.  It depends on the division, the need for the jobs, ect.  They said there is no guessing you just have to wait for the letter.  Yesterday there was one group with a posted PIR of April 1st and three of those people said their SR got to camp on 1/31/11.  So they would have a 9 week RTC.  I am hoping some of our 2/7 recruits did a quick processing and joined that ship.  ProudMomma!'s post makes me hopeful!

I hope you get your letters soon! I bet everybody will probably get their letters by tomorrow or Tuesday. I got mine yesterday!!

Proudmomma~I am hoping & praying for that packet tomorrow!! I have letters just waiting for an address. I am a little upset that some get the address from the recruiter & others don't :( It should be the same policy for all!  I'm sure it will upset the ones who don't have letters when others receive them who started the same time.
I agree with you. The recruiters should make sure they have that information to be able to provide to the family's. I'm hoping though that by the time that they can actually receive mail that most of the family's at least have one or two letters out to their son/daughter.
ProudMomma   You have already joined your PIR group..4/1 to find the group go to the Groups tab and click on it. Then a page will come up and at the top will say "All Groups" and "My Groups" click on My Groups and it will be there. Use the Tabs to manuever around the site...most have All or My as sub groups.
