The blocks should be 6" and made out of a 100% cotton fabric. Since we are doing various States, I'm planning on using a red, white and Blue color scheme for the connecting or bridging fabri

Quick question ~ is that date of the end of March FIRM?  We are likely leaving for NY by Friday for the arrival of our granddaughter on the 21st (if not before).  Likely I won't be back until the end of March.  I'd like to say that I will have the opportunity to do it while there, but we (all) know that won't happen ... I'll get that little one in my arms and forget everything else!  I just know that will happen.  Let me know if you get someone else to do MA, otherwise I will do my best if you can wait, but I just can't promise to make the end of March.

Nothing in my life is Firm, dates or anything else. Some one asked me for a time frame. So since I won't have time to get started until then I said the end of March.

Wow, we have 21 states spoken for already. Pretty soon I'm going to have to list those we still need, to keep the list shorter.

Shirley that was my plan I say, as I get a bit chocked up. I am so happy to hear that he is involved in the ideas. I will put alot of history in my states. God Bless you girls for all your wonderful ideas and motivation. I am so excited about this. I can not tell you !

I was going to try to make a block today and guess what ... I managed to break my last sewing machine needle.  I just picked everything up and put it away.  But listening to Tim's idea, there is something I could still do.  At Christmas, I made a pillowcase for my g'daughter.  I embroidered the state of Maine on it and put a mosquito with the statement "Maine State Bird."  Now I could use both of these designs on a block.

Just talked to the guy I work with and he will either have his mom or sister make the tennessee block.  Yeah I love being the boss....lol

Ok I have Tennessee and North Carolina covered.  The guy I work with called his sis in North Carolina so she is going shopping this weekend for fabric and will send them here so as soon as I get them I will let you know.
