Colleen I will check them out also. Milwaukee seems to be more expensive out of Philadelphia but I am holding off booking airline unless I can find a good rate that I can change the dates in case anything with PIR changes

Hi,

We are in Mass and our son is in the same ship and division.  Its kind of weird becuase when he swore in at MEPS on the 3/17 he was the only one.  We are going to drive as well.  Are you going to drive straight through?  I can't decide what we should do.

Hi ZsMom, we have not made the transportation decision yet.  We are outside of Philadelphia our drive would be similar to yours but I do have our hotel reservations.
hi zsMom  were from westernmass. what part are you from? we are planning on driving straight through i want to leave wednesday night mapquest give a 15 hour direction but bing maps give a 13 hour drive i like the bing map better LOL .

decarp did you call and make the reservation or on line I was on line last night and they had it at 159 a night for 4?  It did look like the best choice.

jdmom i think its going to take 14 hours to drive.. and yes i called the hotel and told them i was there for the navy graduation .but you have to call to get the special rate #1-866-313-5183 .

Thanks I am going to call now.

Reservations made! One step closer.
I understand that the Navy Lodge is $65 per night for a room with double queens, kitchen, and bathroom... :)
New here.... my son is also in 07/170 - I am struggling a little with Grad travel plans.....my understanding is that they won't know their travel day to A school until close to graduation but I need to book flights from California. So I don't know if I should book to come back home on SA or SU.  It is much cheaper on SA.

I’d hate to spend an extra $300 for all of us to find out we have to twiddle our thumbs in Chicago by ourselves if we don’t get to see him for Sunday….. But I would hate to go all that way and miss out on a whole day we could have had with him if we plan to leave SA and he is available on SU off. Not sure what to do....anyone more clued in than I am on this info ? I truly appreciate it !!

If he's doing his A School at Great Lakes you should be able to see him both days as I understand it; however, if he is going else where for A School, he will be flying out on Saturday. I hope that helps. Hopefully he will give you more information in his letters... :)

OH...good to know.  He is going to Pensacola, FL for A school...but I had never read or heard anything sayin they would fly out on SA...I thought they would not find that out until right before Graduation...that he could fly out on Grad day or up to 1 week after.  - Thank you, I think we will go ahead and book to leave on SA and save some money while we are at it....I found some pretty decently priced tickets so I don't want to wait too long to book and chance losing them.
