Here are some of the pillowcases that went to MALS-40 in Afghanistan:
note from the POC for the box that came from Florida, not mine:
I wanted to say thank you for the Box of pillow case, they went very
fast and I got a bunch of pictures. I am writing your thank you letter
today and then I am hoping to get the pictures put on a CD to send to
you.
Everyone who received one, loved them.
Thank you again.
One of the notes:
I would like to take a moment and thank you very much for the pillow
case I received via care package. It was made by Ms. Carolyn ***** it
means a lot to know that we have such caring people taking time out of
their busy schedules to make us feel a little more at home. Thank you
I responded to the note and told him briefly how HAE started and here is his response:
That's a funny story about how Mrs. Lamberson started this project. The
first care package my mother sent me, on my first deployment, came to me
with a nice coating of melted chocolate on everything food and
otherwise.
And here is a note from a Lt. Col. in MALS-40
I just received a hand stitched pillow case from one of my Marines.
Inside was a note telling me about "Heads at Ease." I just wanted to
thank you for doing this, and for thinking about all of our deployed
service members. May God bless you.

Finally, a picture of one sent to a sailor in Japan. It is "hidden" on his bed:
This is just a note as I plan to write later but right now I seem to be have a lot on my plate. The package
was mixed up in my wife's mail and she was in Oklahoma. It was a real surprise and a big blessing to me.
Tell your son that I envy him and thanks for serving. It is to bad though that being an officer he never had
the opportunity to Holy Stone a Deck. Oh! well God will forgive him for that. Thank you and your husband
and organization for what you are doing as like I said it sure was a blessing to me. We all need a little boost
once in awhile and it sure gave me one.
If you ever visit my Web Site again please sign my guest book.
God Bless You
Keep Looking Up
